Description

Alan Reid, one of the most influential Scottish folk artists of his generation, and founding member of Battlefield Band, joins Smithsonian Folkways recording artist Larry Kaplan for a special evening of traditional and contemporary music. One of America's best contemporary folk songwriters, Kaplan's compositions are considered 'stunningly painted portraits of life' (Roots Music, USA). Winner of the 2009 Scots Traditional Music Award and Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame inductee, Reid is considered 'a master storyteller' (Hylton Performing Arts Center, USA). Together they weave a wonderful evening of song to delight and inspire.

General venue access

  • Accessible entry: Four steps from street to building front door. On request, a ramp is available from pavement into building entrance. Flat ground floor thereafter. Box office is wheelchair accessible via a temporary ramp. Temporary Ramp is aluminium, with medium gradient. Unknown weight limitations but easily mounted with help. Entrance has approx 5-6 person wide runway from pavement to main entrance door with railings on both sides and handrails.

    • Wheelchair access type: Temporary Ramp, Level Access

  • Stairs: 2 - 5
    Number of stairs is provided as guidance and is not in addition to any wheelchair access type (lift/ramp etc) stated above.

How and when to make an access booking

Our access tickets service is available to anyone who:

  • Would like to book specific accessibility services, e.g. a hearing loop, audio description headsets, captioning units, seating in relation to the location of the BSL interpreter
  • Requires extra assistance when at a venue
  • Has specific seating requirements
  • Is a wheelchair user
  • Requires a complimentary personal assistant ticket to attend a performance
