Had a brilliant time. Pure silliness! Great outfits and music choices and the performers gave 100%. Please do several dates in London this year!!

It is Shrek. It is Burlesque. It does exactly what it says on the time and it does it brilliantly. I laughed, I cheered and I left with a feeling of utter joy.

Brian Casasnovas 16 days ago

This was fucking fantastic!! It was hilarious, sexy, fun, and more. I loved it. The entire cast and crew did amazing. Shrek is love. Shrek is life. Swamplesque is Fringe perfection.

I was worried this would be a funny gimmick but then get old quickly once the show started, but instead it’s just actually really excellent burlesque. The show starts off strong and the energy never drops all evening: every performer is top notch.

The most fun I’ve had in years!!!!

Freddie Churchill 20 days ago

Absolutely fantastic. Work every penny! You genuinely won’t regret it. Silly and camp. Bombastically gay and enough nudity to fill a bathtub, take the girlies, take the boys. Anybody would enjoy this.

Great atmosphere and laugh out loud.

One of my favourite Fringe shows I’ve seen this year! Lots of funny moments, very talented performers, and overall just a great time :)

THIS IS THE BEST SHOW AT THE FRINGE!!!! Coming from New York, I would’ve paid broadway prices to see this show. The performers are entertaining, have amazing stage presence, and the costumes had my jaw on the floor. The hair, the makeup, the pop-culture references all allow for such a captivating and comedic show. I loved every minute and I’m definitely gonna see it twice!

THE BEST SHOW AT FRINGE! I loved every minute - such great performers, a beautiful display of every body and every shape! 100/10 if I could go every night I would!

ABSOLUTE DISAPPOINTMENT !!!!! AN ABSOLUTE EMBARRASSMENT/ INSULT TO ALL PERFORMER WHO DEDICATE THERE LIVES TO THE WORK !
Only person worthy a mention was the live singer
Otherwise waste of time !

Loved the idea of this show, it was very well advertised and a great concept. However, This show was WAY TOO LOUD so much so that I had to leave halfway through. I would never ever leave a show but it felt like it was gonna burst my eardrums. The costumes were cool. The dancing and burlesque didn’t meet my expectations as I was excited for this show.

Adriana 25 days ago

Seeing this was pure joy. The reference to Valentina had me gagged!!! Please come to America!

Brilliant, outstanding, showstopping. Looking for something with a whole lot of camp and one hell of a good time? This is the show for you. Shrek is love, Shrek is life.

Found out about this show a few days before heading to Edinburgh. I was sold immediately and Swamplesque did not disappoint. It actually exceeded my expectations!! Go see this show!!

Very funny show, brilliantly talented burlesque/drag/cabaret artists. Lots of surprises which kept the show energy electric throughout. No fault of the entertainers but some seats are restricted view so get there early!

Stuart Clive 27 days ago

The crowd loved it..........

A good funny idea stretched over an hour. Enthusiastic performance and a willing audience but this one was not for me! I feel a bit like to boy in The Emperors New Clothes! shouting "put it back on! put it back on!"

Kieran Turner 27 days ago

Referencing Starlight Express, Eurovision, and Va-len-tina all in one show, together with hot roller skating and a dragon. Very loud and very proud. What's not to love?

Claire 28 days ago

The most amazing show I have ever seen. Would recommend to arrive earlier. Hilarious and everyone in the audience also seemed to enjoy it!! Phenomenal!

Lucy Lawless 28 days ago

One of the best shows I’ve seen at fringe - so funny, the costumes are amazing! I loved every minute of it - I was late to the game and had to get a restricted view ticket but you could tell the performers really wanted everyone to enjoy the show and kept playing to everyone possible! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Katerina Kalamara 28 days ago

I really cannot get the reviews. The tickets are extremely expensive even for "restricted review" which unfortunately was not restricted in the end. Just a repetitive show, same jokes, same costumes, no acting or real comedy. A not descent lip singing show, below the average. I'm really wondering why it costs 20£ and it's fully booked. 1h of wasting time. Apologise to the performers but we have to estimate the value of our show in a fair way. That was out of this universe.

Sandro Eich 28 days ago

Outstandingly hilarious and fantastic energy by the cast! A wonderful celebration of body positivity which also includes beautiful singing. Have recommmended to many people knowing that you cannot take yourself (or the production) too seriously.

Georgie Floyd 28 days ago

Very loud - absolutely hilarious- arrive early - highly recommended

Ben 31 days ago

The most joyous, wonderful hour of fun. I particularly enjoyed the artistry, elegance and athleticism of fat bodies. The show is simultaneously polished and chaotic. Get in the queue early!!

Cherry Long 32 days ago

Arrive VERY EARLY.

We got there 5 mins early and had to queue outside, then again inside the venue. Then when we're shown to our seats the show had already started and we missed the first 15 mins. When we got to our seats we couldn't see AT ALL. Quite a few if us had the same issue and venue staff said there is nothing they could do. We weren't allowed to stand at the back, we had to be seated in our seats.

If you sell tickets for a show, we should be able to see the show. We watched the next 20 mins on the screen if the person Infront who was recording, then left.

We were really looking forward to this show and the people who could see were really enjoying it. We unfortunately had no idea why they were clapping, so left after 30mins.

We went to this show on the first night of Fringe 2024 and had an unbelievable time. It was hilarious, the crowd loved it, and the energy in the room was high for the whole show. Go see it!

Euphoric in its queer defiance, body positivity, and adoration for the world of Shrek, Swamplesque is a shameless treat for those seeking a little bit of escapism, joy, and silliness thanks to its cabaret of a truly strong standard.
