Description

The five-star, multi sell-out Fringe phenomenon is back with its hilarious combination of an entirely serious adaptation of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing and an absolutely sh!t-faced actor! It wouldn't be the Fringe without it. With a genuinely inebriated cast member each night, no two shows are ever the same in this raucous, riotous rampage through one of Shakespeare's most beloved plays. Featuring a rotating cast of the finest classically trained actors, partial nudity, foul language, acts of a sexual nature, and actual Shakespeare. Remember to #EnjoyShakespeareResponsibly.

Not the best show of this genre I've seen. Very funny but the conceit isn't entirely believable. A bit too rehearsed and... well, one generally doesn't have props and light cues for things that are unplanned.

I saw this show under recommendation from a friend and I was not disappointed by ANY means!! Amazing humour and improvisation by the cast and this was the PERFECT production to end my first Edinburgh Fringe experience!

Seriously laugh out loud funny. Definitely one worth seeing, especially if you love Shakespeare and/or the chaos that comes from at least semi-improvised performances.

Sh!tfaced Shakespeare is always a pleasure to experience. If you enjoy a good laugh, like Shakespeare, and can handle not taking the Bard too seriously, you'll have a grand time seeing this show.

Have always wanted to see this show, and it absolutely did not disappoint!! Hilarious and accessible way to experience Shakespeare, especially if his writing isn't usually your thing! Great fun, and the sober cast all did amazing at keeping the drunk on track, somehow!!! You can count on us seeing this again next year!

If you have any love at all for Shakespeare you have to go. Live and rambunctious and an amazing time from start to finish

Reading the other reviews, I feel like a party pooper, but this didn’t quite do it for me. I had dark suspicions about whether our “drunk” was really drunk, or very cleverly acting drunk - she seemed too predictably unpredictable. It made for an entertaining show, but I’ve seen too many real drunks (used to work in A&E) to be entirely convinced. Also, if she really was drunk, should we be laughing at this? It’s a bit like when people used to go to lunatic asylums to laugh at the mad people.

Please PLEASE give yourself the gift of seeing this show. Don't let all that hangover go to waste. We wet ourselves laughing, it's a simple idea elevated to perfection.

The best show I saw during my weekend visit to Fringe festival! Absolutely hilarious from start to finish. A must-see show!!

It was our first time as a groundling at this chaotic masterpiece, and we weren't disappointed. The ability to get someone so drunk they break into Charli XCX dancing midway through a monologue, and still carry out a semi-coherent and hilarious performance of Much Ado About Nothing is incredible. Well worth seeing these titans of the stage in action, we'll be going again next week! Thank you for making our first ever Fringe show such a treat!

There was running, shouting, pant-dropping, sex-doll flaunting, kissing and, of course, drinking – so I feel like the audience definitely got their money’s worth! Definitely more Sh!t-faced than Shakespeare tonight, but that’s okay – it was a hilarious mess of a show. Would I go and see it again? Of course I bloody would.
