Description

'As if Debussy and Sufjan Stevens had a baby, and left her in the forest to be raised by Björk' (Audience Review). Recipient of the prestigious Paolo Nutini Songwriting Scholarship, Maya's modern take on songwriting is influenced by everything from Radiohead to Debussy. Mixing violin and harp, looped expertly to create dense and evolving soundscapes as the bedrock to dense harmonies and pithy lyrics. Maya's singles have been featured in SNACK Mag, Rock-n-Roller Magazine, played on BBC Radio Scotland; while her live performances at Celtic Connections and AMPLIFI have been well received.
