Description

Scotland's best comedians in the club that started it all. The Stand has been at the heart of the Scottish circuit for years, launching the careers of Kevin Bridges, Frankie Boyle, Fern Brady and Daniel Sloss. Previous guests also include Susie McCabe, Fred Macaulay, Larry Dean, Marc Jennings, Vladimir McTavish, Raymond Mearns, Joe Heenan, Ross Leslie, David Kay, Danny Bhoy, Susan Riddell and more. At least four acts on every bill with seasoned headliners joining. Different line-up nightly! 'The Stand is my comedy home and still the best club in the world' (Kevin Bridges).

General venue access

  • Accessible entry: Stand 3 is accessible from the pavement with steps leading to a courtyard. The venue is situated in the basement part of the building. There are 15 steps in total with a 90 degree turn on a stone staircase with handrails. Once inside the Stand 3 has a further 3 steps indoors before leading to the main space. Staff are always available to assist, however we cannot help to carry customers.

    • Wheelchair access type: Not fully wheelchair accessible

  • Stairs: 11- 20
    Number of stairs is provided as guidance and is not in addition to any wheelchair access type (lift/ramp etc) stated above.

How and when to make an access booking

Our access tickets service is available to anyone who:

  • Would like to book specific accessibility services, e.g. a hearing loop, audio description headsets, captioning units, seating in relation to the location of the BSL interpreter
  • Requires extra assistance when at a venue
  • Has specific seating requirements
  • Is a wheelchair user
  • Requires a complimentary personal assistant ticket to attend a performance
