Lured in by Julian’s close up mug shot, Oli (real name changed for privacy) and I made our way to the distinguished food stop known as Burrito and Shake.

Once in the basement and being greeted with a crisp handshake we noticed a large safe at the rear-centre of the room - an obvious prop and surely a sign a things to come. What was to follow I cannot truly sum up in words, but Julian very modestly managed to with it being “the best show that happened tonight at the fringe” and he wasn’t wrong.

After interruptions and an unexpected appearance from ‘Batman’ Flash I was thoroughly impressed by Julian’s ability to work with what horrendous material we as a crowd were throwing him. From the American tourists to the homeless (I think) bloke that showed up; every single audience member was fully engaged and in stitches. This transpired to such an extent he claims to have only gotten through 10% of his actual material.

Due to this I naturally had to make a second appearance to see his show and brought along my underage (Edit: 16, so rules complying) brother for the occasion. I was impressed again and learnt much about Animorphs (remember to fold over your ear in case of Yeerk attack). Despite being interrupted by an Austrian pensioner, and a fleeting surprise (third) appearance from Flash, Julian saw his show to completion. In my adolescent brother’s words “it was the best out of the four shows we’ve seen today” so top third? That’s pretty good.

Julian made my Fringe experience this year and I truly hope he keeps 2rying so he can get the recognition he deserves.

My lame friends made us leave early, but never before have I felt so overjoyed and baffled by a show. The mic didn't work. There was garbage festooned over the seats like tinsel around a Christmas tree. The vibe was bizarre. We were serenaded with tales of poop trains and chicken misery. I adored every excruciating second.

Seriously funny and warm heated comedian
The more he got it wrong the funnier it got, and he never backed down.
The man has no shame and deserves more fans now!
