*******************************Must See Show*************************************
saw YOAH few days before , and WOW. It’s a mind-blowing mix of contemporary dance and circus, all wrapped in a dark, Diablo-inspired theme. The dancers were unreal—like, bending reality with every move. And the aerial acts? Insane. The whole thing was a trippy, beautiful, and haunting experience that left me speechless. If you get a chance to see it, do it. Seriously.

The music was too loud and the plot was boring... The only interesting bit was the chair thing.

The incredibly skilful Diablo performances are the highlight of this 5 person show. The acrobatics and aerial acts were excellent too. My only complaints are that the music was too loud and the visual effects detracted from the Diablo. おつかれさまでした!

Enrico Vlaic 25 days ago

The diablo action is really good, the rest quote forgettable. I would not recommend it

4/5.
Feels a little slow paced and with less performance time, erratic music volume, and the diabolo content dominates as many others have stated. Actual quality of the acts are good when they happen. Seating angle is somewhat important due to the projection onto the back, but I don't think its as critical as some other reviewers suggest as long as you are not in the corner- the shows in these tents all have issues with some seats having poor views.

Really enjoyed this show despite being sat on the side (yes it would have been better from the front).
Dark story line that might be a bit scary for very young children but we really enjoyed it. Agree that there is a shade too much diablo work but there is also a lot of other circus and the diablo work that is in the show is world class.

A triumph of technology over talent!

A mix of feelings. The first number with diabolo is very showy and captivating, but unrelated to other parts of the performance, like the aerial silk, very beautiful and poetic but too short. The second performance with diabolo is needless.

It's like a series of unrelated ideas, not a show with its own script.

Breathtaking show! Beautiful and atmospheric, with integrated light, sound and acrobatics. We thought the diabolo parts were cool, and they were often very well integrated with the projections.
It is probably best to choose a front-facing seat, to see the projections straight on.

It was an exciting and dramatic show with good costumes and a high level of skill. Lots of Diablo. Improved by a light show. But only really visible if facing the front of the stage.

I agree that this was (for me) a bit underwhelming; it was a lot of Diabolo and solo acts, and I tend to prefer circuses with a lot of performers at once. An entire sequence (with a scrim and shadow play, or something?) was impossible to see from the sides: the show is clearly meant for a proscenium, not a thrust. (In other words, avoid a side seat.)

We decided to see this based on the many (pre-Fringe) raving reviews but unfortunately did not share their enthusiasm.

I would divide the show into 3 parts:
1. The acrobatics (2) and balancing (1) acts. These were truly breathtaking but accounted for less than 10 minutes of the show!
2. Diabolo performance. Based on the time allocated to this, I would say that Yoah is a Diabolo show which was something I would expect to see on the Royal Mile and not in the Big Top! This was repeated throughout the show and took up at least 30 minutes if not more! Also, one of the performers dropped it on 2 occassions!
3. Dance and other movements. I am sure there is a story to be told, but given how it did not seem to connect to the Diabolo, acrobatic and balancing acts, these movements ended up looking like time fillers in between the acts.

It was at best a 3/5 for us, but only because of the spectacular acrobatic/balancing acts.

If you are a fan of the Diabolo, or don't mind sitting through a 60-minute show to see 10 minutes of awesome acrobtics/balancing act, then do see by all means!

And if you do, remember to line-up early as the view from many seats in the big top are obstructed by the steel pillars inside!

Absolutely breathtaking show. Never seen anything like this before. We give it 10/10! Perfect combo or storytelling and the most beautiful artistry. So pleased we booked tickets to see this one. Highly recommend!

This show was absolutely incredible. So beautiful and so much talent! I've never seen so many cool tricks with a diablo. I was absolutely entranced! The performers seem so genuine and I almost teared up at the end because of how happy they were when we gave them a standing ovation! Highly highly recommend.

Show started 30 mins late due to Tec issues... apparently the same the first night. Not great for the Fringe and had to leave half way through due to other plans. What we saw was good and probably got better as best tricks are often saved till last. Hopefully the issues get sorted soon.

I’m sure the show was great. Venue terrible. Literally couldn’t see anything.

YOAH is spectacular, but spectacular doesn’t even begin to cover it. It feels streaks beyond anything else, offering something new even to the experienced circusgoer. This is the best circus show you are ever likely to see in your lifetime.
