Description
'I became the Jeremy Clarkson of tits.' In this tender off-beat comedy, a mother and daughter survey the changes in their lives while waiting onboard a plane. One is getting used to an empty nest, the other to adulthood. They both hold high hopes for the coming trip together but, with their flight delayed, reunion proves more turbulent than anticipated. Like passengers eavesdropping, we overhear a relationship in need of renewal between two women unsure of how to navigate change. Negotiating emotional crosswinds, they surprise each other with a mischievous, zigzagging honesty. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. A sharp and warmly written piece of comedy drama, served beautifully with well-balanced performances from the two leads. The nuances and shifts in tone are handled superbly. A great way to start your day at the Fringe (although be quick, only two performances left!)

Really enjoyed this piece, would definitely recommend. Sweet, and magically performed by the two ladies who take us into a little bit of their lives. Deserves full audiences for the rest of the run (and someone to pick up the script too!)

Window Seat is witty, nostalgic, relatable, beautifully written by Cleopatra Coleman and impeccably depicted by Maud May and Helen Rose-Hampton. A must see!!

This show is beautifully written and acted. Entirely believable and enthralling. It deserves a much larger audience than the 20-odd people who watched this morning: it should be on TV!! I strongly recommend.

A beautifully written and acted exploration of a mother and daughter’s relationship while they sit side by side on a journey. Funny and true
Bravo

Such a fantastic show, so beautifully written + acted!!! A poignant exploration of the bond between mother + daughter - both the highs and the lows - and such a beautiful way to kick off your day at the fringe. If you are here for just a day, this is the perfect way to start it. A must see!!!

A hilarious, sweet portrayal of a mother and her young adult daughter navigating their changing relationship. Witty dialogue manages to capture that undefinable relationship between family where laughter can become despair within the same breath.
What this play manages to achieve in spirit, despite its simplicity of set and choreography, is a testament to the deliciously sharp writing of Cleopatra Coleman and the boundless energies of Helen Rose-Hampton and Maud May... If you are a mother, if you have a mother, or if you are just human, there is something for you here. Go see.

My first fringe show of 2024 and what a way to kick it off! The acting was wonderful and the chemistry between Helen Rose Hampton and Maud May was excellent. Enjoyed thoroughly - a must see!

Window Seat is a terrific show that we think everyone should see! The writing is very clever and the acting is wonderful too. The production is extremely well done in every aspect-from the simple set to the costumes as well as the off-stage voiced characters make this show a thought provoking story that takes you through a range of emotions. Introspective and heartwarming. Definitely put this one on your list of must-sees!

Superb dissection of parental / filial relationships set upon what amounts to a blank canvas.
A delayed departure of a holiday flight to Italy engenders a frank and sometimes terse interaction between mother and early twenties daughter. Each walking on eggshells and trying not to inadvertently trigger the other. Nonetheless by the time the plane is ready to finally depart they have made some surprising and unifying discoveries about each other.
Expressively acted by Helen Rose Hampton and Maud May, plus exquisitely written, this play will clearly resonate with both university student aged audiences and those that have supported them to this point.

Geese, what a great show. A wonderful performance by Helen Rose Hampton as well as by Maud May, and an inspired screenplay but none other than Cleopatra Coleman. Haven't heard of her? Yet. This is the kind of play you'll want people to tell about in a few years, smugly pointing out that you saw it before it got famous.
