Description
Wilford Wellman is unwell. He does not know what it is or how to get better. And to top it all off his family are acting… strange. Clocks, commodes and card games do little to ease his struggle as he fights to hold onto some sense of normality and get better. Great way to start a Fringe Day. Wonderfully bonkers with talented actors. Good music too - still humming the theme song. Great use of a small space too. Hats off to all involved!

Laugh out loud funny, couldn't see one person in the audience not smiling, can't recommend enough for a perfect start to a great day at the fringe

Wasnt sure what to expect with it being about someone who's I'll, but it was brilliant! A fantastic cast who immediately filled the small venue with laughter. Would definitely recommend, this had been my best fringe show this year! Well done to all the cast.

This was a real joy! Very funny, weird and completely what you need to start your day off at the Fringe. Great short play really well written and a fab cast who looked like complete pros even though their first Fringe experience. Definitely not their last we hope. Well done to the whole group. Bravo!!

Hilarious and heartfelt! The eccentric characters paired with clever props and production had us laughing out loud and hooked on the storyline from start to finish. It was the one of the many shows we saw at the festival over the weekend and it’s firmly our favourite!! We saw the 10:45am show which was the a perfect start to our last day! If you’re into absurd characters and ludicrous humour with clever story telling, this one’s for you!

Full of heart and laughs! Within the show’s short runtime it manages to expertly pull the audience into the hospital room and the wacky Wellman family, each more odd than the last.
The absurdist comedy elements are brilliantly directed and performed, enough to bring your guard down just in time for some truly heart-twinging monologues.
Definitely one to catch this Fringe, well worth the early start!

Simply wonderful. Heartfelt, relevant and frankly hilarious. Haliracket Theatre’s Wilford Wellman’s Wellbeing is a masterclass in the absurd but also carries you through a poignant story in its 50 minute run time. The perfect way to start a day the the Fringe… although you will be humming the theme all day long!

An absurdist comedy at 10.45am whilst your breakfast is still digesting! Surely that’s a tough one to pull off! However, I couldn’t believe it when the venue was filled with laughter within minutes of meeting Wilford, his family, and the Doctor. With a catchy theme tune (that’s still playing in my head), to excellent sound and lighting effects that added to the early morning journey with the Wellman family. The cast were simply outstanding, and are most definitely professional amateurs. What a fantastic start to the day with so much laughter but also a very heartwarming tale. Just perfect before my trip to the National Museum of Scotland which is just around the corner. Oh, and a wee selfie with Greyfriars Bobby, who sits right in between the two.

This show was excellent with a great cast of actors who had us all laughing out loud from the start then took us on an emotional rollercoaster towards the end. Fantastically written play from a brand new production company who definitely don’t feel new to the business.

An emotional roller coaster that had me laughing out load and “welling” up. It was a great way to start our day. Definitely worth heading along to see this one.
