Description
Meet Nicole: Hyperverbal, chaotic and a little dramatic with deep self loathing and crippling self esteem issues, she thought she was a complete disaster, until she found out she had ADHD. Three years later she impulsively wrote and performed her first one woman show in 2023 about discovering her ADHD at 30, Why Am I Like This? Bracing herself for failure, the opposite happened: everyone loved the show (and her?!) So why is it so hard to believe? Why is she so empty? Now there's a new question: Why Am I (Still) Like This? Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. This is hands down one of the best shows I have ever seen in the Fringe. Nicole had me gripped from start to end with her emotive, inspiring and entertaining performance of this show. As someone who also has ADHD, this show made me feel heard and validated my own experiences of having the condition. I have also recommended the show to others who have loved it too. You’re a star, Nicole!

we are not alone! You are amazing and such a brave person, you pull off such a great, emotional and informative show for you and for the audience. THANK YOU! ❤️

A one woman show about one woman and that nasty little voice that lives inside our head. SOOOOOOO relatable, emotional and utterly brilliant! Go see it NOW!

I watched the online version, loved it, and now regret not having seen the show in person when I was in Edinburgh this week. It's such a powerful performance and message. Personally, I can relate to it so much. As she said it in this one line: the show makes (some) people feel seen... and the way it is presented evokes so many strong feelings - it is quite impressive.

I saw this show last year and was blown away by Nicole’s honest, humorous and relatable performance ! Since then my son has had a formal diagnosis of ADHD and we all wanted to come back to see this brilliant show! I have been a high school teacher for 28 years and learnt more about neurodivergence in one hour than I have in any other school CPD I’ve experienced. I would highly recommend this show for anyone but especially those who work with teenagers and those who want to educate themselves on the struggles someone with ADHD has on a daily basis! I found myself laughing and crying in equal measure - Nicole is a very engaging performer and I loved her insight into the mental health and well-being of someone living and thriving now that she knows ‘why I am still like this!?’

Nicole delves into the complexities of self-acceptance. Her honest portrayal of the challenges and triumphs of living with ADHD is both funny and poignant. A must-see for anyone who's ever felt like an outsider.
