Description

In this touching debut, two university students meet on a bench at 2am after a bad night out. The show depicts their struggles to open up to one another, exploring the awkward comedy and profound intimacy that can occur in those one-off conversations with a stranger. The two flirt, fight and fumble along a tightrope walk of social norms and personal boundaries; discussing their outlook on the future, their battles with loneliness, and, ultimately, why they ended up on a bench in the middle of the night.

An incredibly imaginative, relatable and beautifully written play performed by two extraordinarily talented performers. An absolute must see; we saw it twice, as did the lady I was sat next to!
A 5* piece of theatre…

The superbly written script was complimented by the fantastic acting of both ‘him’ and ‘her’. Thoroughly enjoyed it, definitely one to watch.

Excellent. Where are we going with this? My life, I am talking about. Deeply meaningful a script, the narrative brought to life by excellent acting. Many insights into my personal life. How am I going to use its messages. Fully recommend.

I liked the concept, very wholesome and relevant to a lot of young adults. Some of the lines really hit deep. Did drag a little because it felt a bit repetitive in the writing and in the repetitive ‘awkward’ acting. Felt quite one level, could be some more depth in those awkward moments. Has definitely got potential though.

It's amazing what three people can do with a park bench and an incredible script. Funny, awkward, and thought provoking, what more could you ask for?!

What's an amazing debut. The tight writing and real life mise en scene moments make this a must see. Beautiful acting buy this pair made every awkward moment of silence between strangers a rich treasure trove of natural realism. "Love-loved" it, it's funny, real, transparent and you never know where the conversation will head next. Must see.

Loved this play! A really engaging scenario, brilliantly acted. The awkward silence were awesome and the way this unfolded left us intrigued and subsequently debating whether they should have.... highly recommend it.

Charming and funny piece about two emotionally closed-off strangers who figure out how to open up to each other on a cold January night. Excellent, subtle performances, honest, open writing and did I mention funny? :) Highly recommend!

I loved this. Beautifully scripted and acted. Beautiful peace. Connection, awkwardness, backstories, suspicion, fragility and silences. Absolutely brilliant at every level. Such a simple setting and such a complex, textured interraction. Must watch.
