Description
Drew thinks she’s pregnant. Sasha loves her female best friend. And Mary’s home life is a dark pit of despair. Finding themselves crushed under the unbearable weight that is teenagerdom, they take to the woods to clear their minds and make some tough decisions. When Mary discloses her plans of running away for good, suddenly life has more possibility and meaning than ever before. But is it really within their grasp? A triptych of the pain, joy and big feelings that make up adolescent girlhood. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. See this - just one chance left at time of writing, so get along on the 24th! So many reviews here saying how strong this production is (so keep reading below & check out the professional ones, too), from writing to performance and all the areas in between. Totally concur and highly recommend!

Great writing (great balance of comedy and insights to coming of age as a teenage girl), great acting (great balance of funny + moving), great directing, great show! I've seen it 3 times and I'll be seeing it a 4th before it closes. You should see it too! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Two years ago I started randomly picking a couple of New Celt productions. Next year I think I may need to see all of them. Today was We Used To Be Girl Scouts by Emily Schaffer - a playwright who should already be being noticed by new works festivals and theatres here and in the USA. (Oh...Google...thanks...she is https://www.emeryschaffer.com/about ) Today's production features three Amerucan actors based in Edinburgh who deliver totally believable, nuanced creations of the three High School runaways. I will follow Hey Thanks!Theatre Collective going forward as a queer women-led London and Edinburgh company and of course my own alum producer Maria Goikhberg who I met for the first time off line in full length at the show today. Despite a title which I suggest might benefit from a change, the performances, simple effective direction/design, and the writing deserve professional sniffer dogs and bitches to attend.

Love love LOVE this show! Want to explore the lives of three sixteen year old retired girl scouts? This is your chance. We go on a journey that is both heartwarmingly endearing and heartbreaking at the same time. Staging was crisp, precise and so eloquently acted by these three firecrackers. It will make you laugh, cry and probably both at the same time. If you were a girl or know one, you need to see this brilliant play. 10/10 would recommend. A MUST SEE.

Oh my goodness, where do I even begin with this amazing show. Sat front row and the charisma these girls ooze is just contagious. So much energy in every word and the writing has such wonderful elements of light to serious through the scenes really keeping you on your toes on how your going to feel next. Technically the lighting was wonderful, changing to reflect changes in time or moments in their heads, crafted with some excellent soundscaping and versatile props and set. I held on to every word said, every beat taken and every scream. (Iykyk) Excellent work from this collective. I hope they come back next year!

An engrossing, hilarious, tear-jerking emotional roller-coaster! This is a really inspiring new piece of theatre. A coming of age story centered around 3 American girls, this play explores true to life issues and struggles that real girls go through. There were several times when I was laughing out loud, and just as many when I was crying nearly as loudly. This play really has to be seen, and I hope it lives beyond its Fringe run!

Five stars, for sure. This show touched me in ways that not too many shows do. I found myself caught up in so many strong emotions at several points during this play. All of the actors were phenomenal. Their characters were superb. Powerful, heartwarming; a show you don't want to miss!
