Description

In the summer of '99, six-year-old Vlad played a game of chess that changed his life forever. In Vladislav, Baby Don't Hurt Me, the multi award-winning stand-up explores his obsession with the game and how it lead him to leave North Macedonia for the bright lights of the UK comedy scene, via Maltese celebrities, performing for the prince of Oman and a desire to rebuild the Ottoman empire.

Amazing set with continuous laughs. Vlad masterfully blends light-hearted jokes with personal storytelling touching on some heavy topics, yet fit for any audience. One to watch!

Great show! Better than your average chess game. Highly recommend going to see!

Wow the gag rate and the ability to make light of dark topics was amazing. Definitely a favourite of the fringe. So funny!!!!

Went to see Vlad on Thursday 15th - it was a fairly random pick backed up by watching 3 mins of youtube. The show was in a small intimate venue and not sold out, which is a pity because it was a fun and clever 60 mins of stand-up which deserved a bigger audience! Definitely a recommendation from me.

A very enjoyable - and at times moving - hour of comedy, delivered with charm and gusto. The undercurrent is chess and the history of North Macedonia, though it doesn't matter if you know nothing on either subject. Vlad pitches it just right. Highly recommended.

found myself with an hour and a half to spare and was recommended Vlad's show; it was the highlight of my fringe. the writing is superb, the subject matter engaging and memorable and his "rubble" joke is my favourite of the festival. My advice? Book in advance

There is a lot of fun to be had in this show. Put Vlad Ilich on your radar. There’s a lot more to come from him, I think.
