Description
The award-winning TMB transports Gogol’s Inspector General to 1970s small-town America. 'An exuberant, joyously unrestrained, and enthusiastic musical comedy' (DiscoverHollywood.com). A timely reflection on corruption and cover-up from the creators of Big Shot and Grail Project. 'The gold standard in wry literary remakes.' (LATimes.com). Gogol said of his play’s good-natured rogues that the only positive character is laughter. Tiny Little Town embraces the laughter with biting wit, beautiful songs, and high-octane physicality. 'As close to perfect as a new production can get' (SplashMags.com).Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. I love how humorous this is—especially when there were "meta" moments poking fun at the nature of musicals, "and then they just suddenly started to sing." It is a genuine adaptation of the original text. The stylistic design choices and characterization were just so joyful to watch. The dances were amazing, haha. I wish I could see this again in LA.

literally the best show I've seen all fringe! SO much fun and such an interesting and fresh adaptation of the government inspector - losing none of the original humour or charm and still bringing something new to a brilliant original text. I wish I could see it again and again!

This was a great show and it was so good to hear many audience members walking out saying it was one of the best things they had seen at this years Fringe. Funny and great songs and of course Movement. Favorite was the govt inspector sidekick.

Really enjoyed this musical! The story is quite fun, the performances are amazing, and overall super good!
My only bad comment would be that the music was a bit too loud to fully appreciate all the songs (at least from the last rows), but otherwise a really enjoyable experience.
Nicely done!

Wonderful comedic acting, singing and dancing by this exuberant group. Gogol would surely have approved…and so will you.

A delightful surprise. An incredibly slick production with a very very talented cast. The choreography and direction work hand in glove to deliver a fast paced and very funny show. Every entrance and exit is timed to perfection and every moment on stage is expertly plotted and performed. To misquote the show's title, this is a Tiny Little Triumph.

This show was awesome! It is boundless high energy from the first minute, filled with catchy tunes and a story that holds you as you hope for all to work out! The actors are stupendous and the trick where they all use body motions to convey a certain emotional feeling -- all at the same time to emphasize it - and just at the right time just made me laugh out loud. I've never imagined that I know what all those body motions meant until the cast did it all at once, and suddenly I knew more than I thought I knew in that instant. They don't take themselves too seriously and you find yourself laughing with them. Really great show - don't miss it!

A really excellent show. Great songs, brilliant choreography, fantastic vocalists! The mise en scene is fabulous! I enjoyed the whole thing and have booked to see it again in Greenwich. Alex Bravo was a particular gem in a truly great ensemble. 5 stars!!!!!

Tiny Little Town (*****)
When the mayor of a very small town mistakes a grifter for a federal inspector, he organizes the civic leader s to roll out the red carpet for the impostor. This music is snappy, and the choreography out of this world. The mayor, with his Ronald MacDonald hair cut sets the tone for this fun show.
This is the 5th most enjoyable of the 66 shows I have seen so far at the Fringe this year. I hope to see more than 150 this year. You may see my other three-sentence reviews, in order from most enjoyable to worst, at my non-commercial website: https://fringefan.com/

★★★★★ I heard they treat guests well in TINY LITTLE TOWN
THE GOOD:
- Unshakeable Earworms: Two-thirds of the tunes are absolute bangers—trust me, you’ll be humming them all the way home.
- Choreography That Speaks: The choreography, though deceptively simple, was seamlessly woven into the narrative. And the facial expressions!
- Universally Fun: Musical lover or not, this show has something for everyone. It’s hard to imagine anyone not getting swept up in the fun.
THE NOT SO GOOD:
- Volume Control: A few vocal moments were on the quiet side—I couldn’t help but wonder if the folks in the back missed some of the magic.

Thank you thank you for a splendid show! Thanks to the the cast and the book and the lyrics and the soundtrack and the choreography. Such energy & brilliant timing. Thoroughly engaging, cool, hot and clever. The parochial ’70’s town is a great setting for the issues they raise . Unflinchingly engaging. Go see it!

This is a farce, I knew that going in. It has over-acting, melodrama, ridiculous situations, silly choreography. But is it a GOOD farce? Unfortunately, I would say no. I knew after 5 minutes that the obvious lyrics, the middling singing, and the uninspiring script made this a show I wouldn’t be able to recommend. It feels like a lower-tier community theatre production. While the actors are convincingly manic, there just isn’t enough here. 2/5 stars

This was the peak of the Fringe 2024 for me. Excellent, snappy, brilliantly cast, choreographed and sung. Very dynamic. Very engaging. Brilliant dialogue. Amazing adaptation of The Government Inspector. Absolutely compelling viewing. 1 hour 30 flew by. Blown away by this. Thanks.

Silly, sobering and supremely sung, this was a delight, with especially tight, pin-sharp choreography and movement. The only thing more impressive than the dancing was the Mayor's quite extraordinary Heihachi from Tekken hairdo.

What an excellent tiny musical! The music was good, the acting solid, the costumes fun, but the choreography in particular was ON POINT.
Do not miss this show!

What luck to stumble across this joy of a show, bursting with talent. A delightful take on an old classic it had its audience - young and old alike - enthralled. Beautifully cast, danced and sung, it’s a wonderfully funny show that deserves to play to packed houses.
