Description

A collage style devised work exploring the (potential) collapse of the Anthropocene, this personal meditation on the climate crisis explores the beauty and inevitability of impermanence. Born from the debris of late-stage capitalism, Things We Will Miss features performers in disparate roles, including an amateur astronomer, a park ranger, mythological prophet Cassandra, Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and ultimately, themselves. Driven by image, light, and sound rather than linear narrative, it viscerally explores the grief and beauty, the horror and hope inherent in being alive in this very moment.

Serendipity wins the day with this gem of a show. Two pleasant people asked if we’d like to see « experimental theatre » . So glad we agreed. Entering to a Laurie Anderson aural backdrop we were treated to a range of emotions inspired by invested, excellent performers.

My daughter a Bennington college 4th year enjoyed the creativity and I was brought back to my own college years where boundary pushing, non-conformist performance art was a joy.

Thank you !

If this show isn't on your list, add it NOW!!!
Absolutely stunning - so moving - I cried! Wasn't sure what to expect but the structure is so clever and the writing and performances are incredible. The thoughtful projection and sound and lighting add a layer of complexity that you don't often see at fringe. We were blown away - kudos to this team!! Definitely one of the best shows I've seen this fringe!!

At the end of this performance it's author and in the wings performer (and professor of the cast of students) thanked us for coming and allowed she understood that some of us may have been "coerced" to attend. I won't say I was coerced but something akin to that, perhaps. Let's just say I was apprehensive at first. But this cast Unleashed My Fringe. The energy and passion of the entire cast expressing joy, fear and angst delivered a message which moved both me and my wife. This work deserves to be seen. This performance will remain, positively in my thoughts for a long time.
