Description

Deep in the Scottish Highlands lies Nebula Inc, a private space research facility fronted by egomaniacal billionaire Amadeus Klein. Fed up with unfair treatment and exploitation, Nebula’s interns are going on strike. Simultaneously, Nebula has stumbled upon a groundbreaking discovery: a message, potentially from an extra-terrestrial source. As the higher-ups clamp down on the strike and tensions rise amongst the interns, cryptic symbols from space become the least of their worries. Through trying to better workers’ rights, Nebula’s employees must learn to build solidarity with each other and possibly, other life forms…

This show was really interesting and silly, it was an enjoyable and fresh concept however it did become repetitive and too long.

We saw the show yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Fast moving and great dialogue. Very current content and we were well on board with the plot and wider messages. Great writing, lots of laughs. The actors worked brilliantly together and all were strong individually. A real treat! ****

Afraid I didn't enjoy this piece & the hour dragged
I found it repetitive & somewhat infantile
I appreciate I'm in the minority with other reviewers, but this failed to make any positive impression on me

We attended this one effectively at random because it was near our hotel while we were waiting for our room to be ready. Earnest, humorous, self-deprecating exploration of worker rights and unionization in a high-tech firm that may or may not have discovered alien life. Four stars.

Fantastic show funny and relevant. Not only have we got our side story regarding aliens (the less relatable bit if your not into that field) but we have a look into workers rights and fair treatment and pay within the work.

Very tallented group of performers with brilliant comedic timing. The use of space and direction compliments the show well and each actor works well in one another's company.
The writings compelling, and characters are well fleshed out

Overall a must see this fringe

What a riot! This show was so much fun! The performers' commitment to the style of comedy is so solid and unwavering that it works perfectly. The technical details are wonderfully timed and well designed as well, from the sound/lights to the costumes and graphic design elements. You can tell that this group has great attention and appreciation for detail. Great comedy, you don't want to miss it!

A superbly funny show, with wonderfully detailed performances from the entire cast. "Sexy, pint-sized Tilda Swinton" was a line I didn't know I needed. Highly entertaining, but getting its politics right with regard to labour under late-stage capitalism.

This is a fantastic show, definitely worth seeing. The cast are extremely talented actors, playing multiple characters with different accents. While the show is really funny - the comic timing was spot on - it had a serious message at its heart which was portrayed really well by the cast. Thanks for an extremely entertaining afternoon.

A completely electric story about aliens and being alienated by the people in power. The cast has such fun with Lex’s deeply entertaining script; and alongside direction which means there’s never a dull moment on stage, Take Me To Your Leader is joyful and poignant to the max. I highly recommend it!

A hilarious, heart-filled, and very current play! This play surprised me in a few ways, it's very theatrical, with a lot of tongue and cheek winks and nudges to the audience, but in a very charming way that doesn't get distract from the more serious and emotionally resonant moments. The cast all take on multiple roles, in addition to one of the central characters, so that this play has a very fun, theatrical ensemble energy. If you want to see something youthful, current, socially conscious and that doesn't take itself too seriously, then Take Me To Your Leader is a great way to spend an afternoon!

An absolute blast (rocket pun un-intended) from start to finish!
Each member of the cast shone so brightly both individually and as a unit, making fantastic use of a small performance space to enhance the feeling of being in research facility's dingy basement office. Phenomenal comic timing and plenty of references to sci-fi classics - shout out to underrated Hollywood gem, Amy Adams.
Take Me to Your Leader offers a-laugh-a-minute enjoyment sprinkled with heartfelt sincerity, discussions of workers' rights in the face of Elon Musk-esque tyranny (read: stupidity), and... aliens?!

This show combines two of my favourite things- aliens and social justice
Set and acoustics were perfect, as well as perfectly timed tech
I didn’t know the couple of script errors were even there until I was told afterwards, meaning these guys were able to think on their feet to make it a seamless performance
All the very best for the rest of your run

There is such a good-hearted charm to the production, and so many funny lines, that its occasionally lop-sided nature and over-reliance on film references to make points can easily be excused. The end result has an odd charm and an energy that overcome most possible objections.
