Description
Madeleine Munford has been told one too many times to just stand there and look pretty. As a love letter to the girlies, also known as the ‘shes, theys and gays’, Madeleine is ready to take the stage with Stand-up, Look Pretty and bring the crowd exactly what they want: a rebellious new bestie to spill the tea with in the smoking area on a night out. Join this anxiety-riddled New Yorker as she recounts her chaotic “healing” journey after a break-up (from a total narcissist!) while navigating living abroad in both Paris, France and Dublin, Ireland. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. An excellent journey through queer dating woes, sexual awakening via fictional villains, and the never ending onslaught of Irishmen obsessed with sports pubs.
Madeleine has a wonderful charm about her that carries through the stories of missed love and exploring one's identity. It's okay to laugh though, she assures us she's in therapy - and when we can connect on stories of our missteps, aren't we all in therapy together? Madeleine thinks so, and when someone is willing to name Beetlejuice as one of their sexual awakenings, you know you can trust her!
A very funny and tightly written show, highly recommended!
