Description
Since we were formed in 1983, we’ve believed in doing things differently. As unconventional whisky experts we seek out whisky in its purest form, prize flavour above everything else and give each bottling a curious name. Come and join us for a whisky drop-in session and dive into the extraordinary world of SMWS whiskies. This informal and laid-back setup will take place in the heart of Edinburgh's vibrant festival scene. Our ambassadors will be there to assist you in selecting five sample drams from our collection. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Second year coming to the Scotch Malt Whiskey Society for a tasting, and it didn't disappoint! Wonderfully relaxed and welcoming environment, this tasting was entirely led by each individual, with an introduction to each of the five whiskeys on offer, and then a good 90 minutes of choosing which you would like to try. Everyone in the room became friends by the end, and we'll be coming back next year for more!
Our host was absolutely fantastic - we didn't get a chance to catch his name but he found the exact right balance between informative, interesting, friendly, and funny!
