Description

Souvenirs is a story of neurodiversity, self-acceptance and service stations. Hanna has just made another big social misstep and decided that this time she’s going to leave. Driving north without a destination in mind and hitting up every services on the way, join Hanna as she explains to us how she’s always struggled with keeping friends and never understanding why. As she drives deeper and deeper into the wilderness of the M6, will Hanna come to terms with why she is the way that she is, or simply drive until there’s no more road?

I love El's style: so free, transparent, energetic, open, creative and fun. She is absolutely engaging, her story and character of Hannah spot on. I was so impressed by the creativity of her narrative and artistic design, how she cleverly, subtly weaves autistic traits like time blindness, noise sensitivity, social cues confusion, rule-loving and deep analysis through all aspects of the show to center us in a neurodivergent POV and take us on a journey. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. An original. Excited to see more work from El.

Souvenirs is an engaging and tender portrayal of a blossoming relationship with autism. El tells their story with energy and authenticity.

I was immediately charmed by El's performance of Hannah - their performance is genuine, convincing and honest. Souvenirs is more than another show about neurodiversity - it offers an intriguing falling-in-love-the-best-friend storyline with a dose of motorway services. Funny, engaging and gentle.
