Description
In a South London police station, Candi relives her recent love affair. Tinder date anecdotes, a trip to Thailand, a dodgy threesome... Candi has much to share as she enters a new phase of her life. Catapulted into a whirlwind of lust and bad decisions, the sweetness of new love turns sour as Candi loses sight of herself. Written and performed by Danielle Scott, this intimate semi-autobiographical drama comedy is a hilarious, candid take on gaslighting, control and power in modern relationships. Sour Candi is a rollercoaster ride of red flags and a cautionary tale of blind love. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. I love a show which makes you still think about it way after you've left the venue. This show definitely does that. Danielle is such an engaging comedy actress and her story has a lot of humour but also vulnerability and profound moments. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

This was an absolutely amazing and immersive show! Every character was so unique and believable, you could imagine exactly who was talking at any moment, and they ranged from totally lovable to absolutely wretched. The show was hilarious as well as scarily relatable in a life of missing all the red flags, and the story telling was easy to follow but still captivating and told in an interesting and creative way! I’d absolutely recommend this show and I hope to get to see it again next year :D

What a show. What a performance. This was both a funny and deeply moving piece (no pun intended). I was in awe of Danielle's ability to have us laughing out loud one minute and pulling at the heartstrings the next. Her writing and acting had me so invested in the character, and the subject will be something I'll be discussing with friends for a long time.

This is an extraordinary show – incredibly compelling and deals with the most serious subjects in a deft and story-led way. Highly recommended.

I am in awe of Danielle and her powerhouse writing and performing. The balance between humor and heartfelt is skillfully done not only in the writing and performing but in the direction as well. The whole team has created a realistic and wild ride that grabs you from the beginning and holds you to the end. Bravo to the entire team! It's a must-see this fringe season!

This show is a MUST SEE! Danielle Scott is a powerhouse onstage. Her acting is spectacular, specific, engaged... Her writing is funny, moving, legible. This high-energy show with moments of levity AND substance is well worth your time. Do not miss it!

A hurricane tale about sh*tty men wrapped up in a sweet and colorful package, this show truly lives up to its name. At once a funny, flirty character piece and a condemnation of toxic masculinity which never once gets preachy with its message. There’s no verdict, just an accounting of events. A work of fiction, sure, but a story that feels all too real.

Danielle Scott is an absolutely incredible performer. Her description of unwanted d*ck picks is worth the price of admission alone. She is a hilarious riot mixed with just the right amount of grounded, tender seriousness when her character’s life takes a turn. Unexpected, though provoking, moving, and important. Sour Candi is a must see production with a must see star. Everyone at In A Pickle Productions is amazing. Well done all around! You must see this show!

This is a great and thought provoking show. Though entertaining there are lots of questions that the audience takes away. Very well acted & very enjoyable

Definitely worth seeing this one-woman show. It will make you laugh, probably make you squirm and may even make you cry, but whatever it does, it will make you think. I don't want to spoil the story's surprise so just go and see this show, it deserves all the support it can get!

I had a blast watching this. She took us on a journey and wanted Candi to get off the ride at points, I was like “you can do better!” because I completely saw the character and not the actress! Great work
