Description

How are you supposed to deal with a tragedy? In Brian's case, step one is obviously to drink heavily and then hope that somehow step two reveals itself. Navigating the tempest of grief, anger and guilt that comes with a loss, SOS BRN follows Brian's escapades into the night as he searches for some kind of an answer, waiting hopelessly for a miracle that could fix everything. Plagued by worried housemates, wise strangers and a thoroughly annoying hallucination, tonight may be the night that Brian realises that life and death aren't what he thinks they are.

We were SO impressed by SOS BRN, from the sensitively written authentic dialogue, to the intimately staging, which really allowed the audience in. The acting was committed throughout and uniformly top notch - can’t recommend highly enough.

This was my first time at the Edinburgh Fringe, and after experiencing the grandeur of the Tattoo and exploring various other events, I approached SOS BRN with more modest expectations. However, I was pleasantly surprised when this show turned out to be the highlight of my entire visit.
The storyline was sensitively crafted, weaving complex themes with care and depth, which kept me engaged from start to finish. The writing was not only thoughtful but also powerful, addressing important issues in a way that felt both respectful and impactful. It takes the audience from laughter to heartfelt grief in a small window of time.
The cast was equally impressive. Each actor brought their character to life with authenticity and emotion, creating a connection with the audience that felt very real. Their performances were not only well-executed but also deeply engaging, making the narrative even more compelling.
In a festival brimming with talent, SOS BRN stood out as a truly remarkable experience. It exceeded all my expectations and left a lasting impression. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a show that is both thought-provoking and expertly performed. A must see !

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
An excellent piece of new writing with a sensitive topic carefully handled via a perfect blend of humour and raw emotion.
Excellent casting and acting all round, but a truly standout performance from the actor playing Brian. This play deserves a run beyond the Fringe!

Extraordinary good acting (especially Brian) of a well written and produced play dealing with a poignant subject matter. Palpable chemistry between cast members making the flat sharing scenario utterly believable and genuine. Well worth mine and your time

Beautifully acted study of grief and guilt sensitively handled by a supremely talented cast. You’ll laugh, possibly cry and certainly be moved in a performance that will stay with you long after the applause dies down. Highly recommended.

Wry, tender and almost indecently funny. A fast-paced and slyly surreal drama about loss and friendship. Staged and acted with deft concision.

Beautifully written and performed, heartfelt story about connection and loss. The humour was amazingly executed too. Laughed and cried! Highly recommend!

SOS BRN gives an incredibly real, and yet somehow comforting, view into struggles with grief and the journey on how to live with it. There are moments of poignancy throughout and you can't help but love the characters (the whole cast portray them so perfectly). Unfortunately, grief is something all of us have or will have to deal with, and SOS BRN really shows that you are not alone in how you feel or how you deal.
