Watched this on a whim and it was a great decision! Very intimate, very vulnerable, and very funny. I loved the breaking of the fourth wall - it was tastefully done. The exploration of female friendships and the impact that men and romance have on them was so interesting and it felt like a tender kiss to the forehead (right before a wave of emotion just knocks you out with a punch to the stomach). There were moments when the transitions between boxing ring and memory felt awkward, but with a stripped-back show such as this, I’m inclined to look past it because the characters all spoke to me very much!

smokeshow is a sharp, inventive, clever, and wildly entertaining show. Each actor brought such interesting colors to their characters and even when you think you've gotten to know them, they throw something new into the arena. I really enjoyed this show and am excited to see where it goes next.

Wow! “Smokeshow” is a witty, vulnerable, and strikingly telling play outlining the importance of trust and loyalty in true friendship. Safwa Ozair, Sadie Shea, and Natalie Rebenkoff all give heavily dynamic performances, getting straight to the heart of the audience. I saw this opening night and had such a great time being taken through the rollercoaster that is the conflicting states of Eileen, Caroline, and Jolene’s relationships with one another. Highly recommend!!
