Description

Krista lives in London. Pip lives in Malta. As long as they can remember, their father has always enjoyed a drink. Finally reunited, they're beginning to see things as they are. Based on her lived experience, Bettina Paris's new play is a comedy drama about family, migration and the realities of addiction. Sunday Times Scotland Best Theatre to Watch. 'A clear labour of love, tightly directed by Nicky Allpress, the chemistry between the characters is electric; Rizzo and Paris bounce off each other as effortlessly as a tennis ball in a championship match' ***** (Times of Malta).

Smart writing, fantastic performances from both actresses, and heartfelt storytelling. A mature mix of humor and dramatic urgency that handles the themes of addiction with care. Highly recommend seeing this piece!

Anyone who relates to this show can check out Al Anon Family Groups, to support friends and family of alcoholics and addicts. So much is honest and real - the powerful and clear portrayals of how dealing with a family member going through addiction pops up in difficult ways - interfering with work, distracts from
Priorities and on a deeper level
Affects someone’s ability to affirm for themselves and seek validation (like asking the sister what she should say to get engaged)
Powerful show, great pairing with charities. Highly recommend!
Important and relatable show.

A funny, poignant play that was acted so
beautifully as a two hander. The characters felt believable and the conversions acted out seemed so genuine. I loved the sprinkling of Maltese words/phrases and the hints of the Maltese culture, which I picked up on, being Maltese, but you don't need to be from Malta to appreciate and relate to the very real issues raised in this play and enjoy the poignancy and humour. Well worth seeing.

A must see! Brilliant writing, superb acting and directing. The characters were so relatable and real, and the actors had incredible chemistry. My family of 4 (including my 2 college-aged sons) all found something we could relate to, and we talked about it for hours after. This is the kind of surprise gem I came to Fringe hoping to see!

It’s a play with a real sense of reality in the dialogue and the chemistry between Paris and Rizzo. The sororal bonds feel real ... Ultimately quite entertaining
