Description

Porridge After Meat presents a dark and twisted comedy about the cloistered lives of two co-dependent sisters and their cow. Living on their alcoholic father's farm in the middle of bum-fuck nowhere, join these potty-mouthed, greasy little misfits in hope, rivalry and a weird kinda love on their absurd and (sometimes) tender journey to true sisterhood. Gaulier grads and absurdist character-comedy duo Blaise Wopperer and Lara Ciulli bring you their Edinburgh Fringe debut in an obscene, whimsical and deeply stupid exploration of love, loss and loyalty.

A bountiful menu of physicality, clowning, and chemistry. The Fig sisters will ensnare and captivate you with their masterful blend of absurdity and relatable sibling banter. Imagine Summer Heights High meets coming of age / sisterhood drama with a sprinkle of Mexican daytime TV.
With a handful of evenings left, I implore everyone to clear their post-dinner schedule and down this overproof cocktail of electricity and slick humour, cherry’d by a memorable costume umbrella, and a slice of psychopathic father...

Strange, weird, sexy - there was laughs, crys, dramas and a hot dad. For a show that felt pretty crazy there was a lot of poignancy and well crafted story telling. I could feel us following these sisters a long in their off-beat lives. There's clown, there's games there's fun and there's a real whack in the chest when the show answers the the question of "where is this going?" Boom. Amazing.

10/10

My friends and I stumbled into The Sisters Fig not knowing what to expect and were absolutely BLOWN AWAY by it. So ridiculous and funny, the whole show reminded me of a more brain rotten Ja’mie Private School Girl (in the best way possible). Favourite show of the fringe and such a fun watch! If you’re looking for something fresh this Fringe festival definitely go see The Sisters Fig while you still can

One of the best Fringe shows this year. Exquisite storytelling, fantastic actors, an hour of no regrets and an urge to message your sibling and tell them they suck but also you love them so much. It will make you laugh. It will melt your heart. It’s very Fringe. Highly recommended!

Idiotic, funny, visionary, human. I loved this show and how sensitive and light these two performers are, silly yet we see the human side of these two very weird siblings. This a beautiful play with two soulfully funny performers, and I just can't wait to see the two hours version of it.

HANDS DOWN my favourite show I’ve seen at Fringe so far! The performances are phenomenal, the format is flawless and the quirky, wonderful comedy is balanced seamlessly with the tender relationship between the sisters. I’ve been recommending it to everyone I meet, it’s just SO SO good!

Sisters Fig was so lovably strange. This pair of performers have such fantastic chemistry, and I was so happy to watch them combine aspects of film, improv, and musical performance to create this sweet story. If you are looking for an off-beat, intimate spaced show with dirty humor, this is a fantastic show to catch.

One of the most hilarious, outrageously weird and unique shows I’ve seen. Came in expecting excellent character comedy, which I got, but didn’t realise I’d be in stitches the ENTIRE TIME, and definitely did not expect to be moved by the story of the Fig sisters by the end. Would recommend to literally anyone.

Honestly one of the most incredible fringe shows I have seen. Put this one at the top of your watch list! The two actors are incredibly talented and I have never laughed so hard. The premise itself was hilarious and the actors brought the characters to life in such a real and humorous way. I cannot recommend this show enough!
