Description

Ireland, the 1970s. A scandal has struck deep at the heart of the school. The boys sense it, the teachers whisper about it, and the Headmaster knows all too well where it might lead. Life must go on, and the recently hired Ms Turley is too preoccupied surviving as a single mother in Catholic Ireland to notice, doing her best for her own son who has also started at the school. Caught up in her own struggle she’s unaware of how far down the dark path to scandal she has already travelled... 'Impressive' (Irish World).

Stunning! Great acting and very engaging. Not an easy subject matter but all three actors were superb - I was very impressed

Tessa Conway 20 days ago

Heart-breaking and brilliant. A disturbing insight into the dangers of authoritarian schooling. A truly thought-provoking play that everyone needs to see!

Susan Hickson 21 days ago

Thought provoking and hard hitting story which highlights power imbalances and injustice in Irish catholic society. Amazing acting which keeps you on the edge of your seat. A must see!

Masood Ahmed 23 days ago

This was quite simply one of the best shows I have seen at the Fringe, a powerful tour de force of acting by all of the cast that delves into the serious issue of Irish child abuse at school. I expect great things from this cast in the future I also recommend Through the Mud.

This play has many unexpected twists and turns which keep your attention to the very end.
Convincing acting and a story-line which might shock, but not surprise.

Every detail and action throughout the play are powerful and the word “abuse” is never used but the passion of Ms Turley and anger allow the audience to fully understand the extent of the events taking place within the school walls.
