Description

SILENCE! The Musical is the unauthorised musical parody of the Academy Award-winning film The Silence of the Lambs. As rookie FBI agent Clarice matches wits with the brilliant but insane Dr Hannibal Lecter to catch the serial killer known only as Buffalo Bill, a chorus of singing lambs breaks out into show tunes about the most horrific of subjects. Complete with singing serial killers, songs with unprintable titles and a chorus of lambs, SILENCE! the Musical comes charging at you with gleefully unstoppable bad taste.

Wow. Honestly just wow. Not only was the show absolutely hilarious but also the talent of the cast was incredible. The quality of the singing (despite some questionable lyrics) was fantastic, the likeness of the cast to the characters in the original movie was insane and the whole thing was just damn funny. I was thoroughly entertained from start to finish, very very well done. Silence! Was the last show I saw at Fringe 2024, and I wouldn’t have wanted to end it any other way.

Amazing musical, if your a fan of silence of the lambs you will really enjoy this witty musical. The cast were all amazing and everyone did a great job, we were left in stitches of laughter at the end and still sometimes catch ourselves laughing now at some of the jokes.

This show was hilarious. I was intrigued as soon as I saw the poster and I am so glad we went to see it. If you're a fan of the film you just see this. Different to most musicals and hilarious. Great songs, super talented cast, so so funny.

I cannot stress enough how highly I recommend this show. Left the theatre with my jaws aching from smiling and laughing and my hands tingling from clapping so enthusiastically. Also very pleased to find out that there's a cast recording on Spotify! If I'd had the chance to see this again, I absolutely would have. Definitely a 2024 Fringe gem and a must-see. Saucy, silly, smart. Superb. Why are you reading this review when you could have already bought a ticket by now? ;)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Wild. Saucy. Excellent.

Quite easily one of the most slick and professional productions we've seen at the Fringe this year. Not only that, but insanely hilarious from start to finish.

It is quite honestly absurd how talented this cast are. From the perfect performances of Clarice and Hannibal, all the way through to the ensemble of multi rollers guiding you through the story.

I was not very familiar with the film before going into Silence! The Musical, but a quick video recap on YouTube 10 minutes before the show brought me up to speed very quickly.

A perfect late-night addition to your Fringe experience. Go! Go! Go!

We saw 20 shows this year at the Fringe & this was out n out our no. 1 favourite.
We keep quoting the line , "are these your drawingsz Dr Lector " to each other & laughing out loud at the memory of the crazy ,funny parody that was "Silence".
Everyone played their part so well ,the lambs were SO good & the lead characters deserve an Oscar .The songs were well written & delivered with joyful gusto . The shadowing of the original film was also excellent .We were amazed, entertained & enthralled .
As two oldies we werent sure we'd manage the late start, 11.15pm, but are so so glad we did.
You were brilliant . Thank you all so much .

The perfect way to end a day (or evening) at the Fringe. This is not only funny but slick and well-produced with a talented cast and musical accompaniment. Amongst the best shows I saw this year.

Campest farm animals since the dairy lee dunkers cow, absolute highlight of my trip. Although on late, it’s worth staying up for, I’ve never seen a show quite like it! Whoever wrote this is a criminal mastermind, come for Clarice and stay for Hannibal’s museum worthy illustrations. Kudos to the cast, crew, and anyone involved in this fever dream masterpiece.

Inspired by come dine with me the musical I ventured way out past my bedtime to see this show

Very dark and grim and in your face but its the comedic parody of the musical form which is brilliant especially the choreography and some of the musical numbers which contrast with the dark material

Highly recommended ; shame its on so late

An absurd, unsettling, but deeply funny production from Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Christopher Gattelli, Silence! the Musical is not to be missed at the Cowbarn until 25th August.

What impressed me the most about this show was how well the story and the film lends itself to a musical adaptation, albeit in parody form.
