Description

They cloned Mozart, it went horribly wrong and now we're stuck with the consequences. Making his UK debut in a cheap wig, Shitty Mozart (Aaron Nemo, a writer for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert) performs a dazzlingly chaotic, vulgar one-man multimedia concerto. Terrified that the audience will realize he lacks the musical genius of his predecessor, Shitty Mozart shows off his own talents – playing makeshift instruments he's invented, performing duets with cartoons he drew, even conducting a brief laser light show – in a futile attempt to escape Wolfgang's shadow and make a name for himself.

I really loved this show. I went in by accident but it was so entertaining that it became one of my favorite shows at Fringe. I want to watch it again. I would love to watch more of your shows in the future!

It’s by far the funniest show I saw at Fringe, and it’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

That’s about as simple and honest a review as I can offer, because to attempt to describe Shitty Mozart in any more detail would both spoil the fun and woefully fail to capture the frenetic, chaotic, delightful experience that Aaron Nemo (and his trusty producer Reed Kavner) have devised.

If you want, though, I can try: a man cloned from Mozart’s pube performs short satirical songs to crude animations while being berated by his sidekick, a light fixture that can only communicate lyrics from Mr. Brightside—and all of these tech cues are operated by Shitty Mozart himself through an elaborate combination of electronic boards and instruments. There are also a lot of plush bees involved, and if I had to describe Shitty Mozart’s relationship with his audience, I’d have to go with “playful hostility.”

See? What the hell was I just going on about? Just trust me: go to the show and if your sensibility is anything like mine, you will be laughing uncontrollably and repeatedly—both during the show and in the days that follow as you involuntarily remember the stupidest, silliest moments from an unforgettable night.

Incredible commitment to the bit. Silly, vulgar, hilarious fun, with an impressively slick performance and preparation. Definitely worth a watch.

It was literally of the best shows at Fringe! I was really taken by surprise by how good it was. It’s just good old silly fun and a must see! I was literally on the floor in tears!! So good! Get your tickets now! I loved it! And he certainly deserves all the stars! What talent!

This is, in the best way possible, the stupidest nonsense I’ve seen in a long time. I was crying tears of laughter from start to finish, and needed to go back again for a second dose of insanity. If you grew up in the early 00’s watching videos of the likes of Homestar Runner and The End of the World - get your butts over to see this act - you will not be disappointed!

Absurd, vulgar & wonderful: a great three dimensional show that *should* appeal to your inner child. Recommended to friends!

What an effing gem of a show! Look, yea it's silly, and yea it's full of obscenities - get over it Dick YouKnowWho (it ain't a shower and it rhymes with 'wrath'). It is also a creative explosion of absurd wit that leaves you in stitches. It is the essence of Fringe.

Hilarious, clever, surprising, and sooooo shitty. It takes a true genius to be this brilliant and this dumb at the same time. Highly highly recommend!

If you like music/media based comedy you'll love this! Clearly loads of creativity went into producing this show and it really comes off. Absolute sleeper hit of the fringe, don't miss this! Absolutely off the rails and great fun to be part of.

What...did I see.... It's so "bad" that it's funny. It's something you can't really explain and might need to be in the mood for, good thing it's on that late

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this. This show had me cracking up and I learned a lot of factually accurate history as well. Aaron is clearly a visionary!

It’s a funny, clever, puerile, show that takes a huge amount of work to make it look extremely low effort.

As far as late-night fodder goes at the Fringe, this down-at-heel creation is an audacious wander through a weird, intelligent and mischievous comic mind.
