Description

The seven stages of grief are a familiar concept to those who are grieving, have grieved or will grieve. Do they feel slightly alien and out of reach to you? Do you wish you could face each stage and meet them eye to eye, and understand them? Amber is going through this process. Each stage presents themselves to her, shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, testing and acceptance. This is an equivocal play of self discovery of grief, death and dying. It questions if there really are seven steps to feel completely happy again.

What an absolutely breathtaking production. Deeply touching, skilled and thought provoking writing, performed to perfection by a talented cast who were able to take the audience from tears to laughter and back again. Worthy of a larger stage, I hope that this production continues to touch the hearts of future audiences.

A story telling of grief, told by four strong young actors.
Young Amber is going through the grief of her mothers impending death.
Comedy is delivered from Seven stages of grief department. This masterful piece of writing and talented cast held the audience in the palms of thier hands .
This performance was mature beyond its years and heart rending .

Beautiful, touching story told well. Loved the attention to detail and how the characters take time to exist and breathe on stage and create intimacy with one another. Loved the scene that was being played out against the musical background of "Both Sides" by Joni Mitchell. The actresses carry their roles beautifully and with so much grace! Their last address to the audience is also very touching. Recommend to all who have gone through grief, so to everyone.

A beautifully written piece that provokes the feelings and emotions someone feels during grief.
Grief is a taboo subject, that many shy away from talking about, or avoid completely, but this play tackles the subject head on, in a dark comical, but realistic way!
Grief is not ‘one size fits all’ although society might lead us all to think that - this play takes us on a journey, and a rollercoaster of emotions of what most experience through their journey.
A huge well done to the all female cast and to Tegan the writer, with her impressive, expressive writing!
Go see their final show!

This show was so beautifully written and produced wonderfully. The show was all-encompassing of the emotions grief often entails and is great to spotlight that in a lens not often seen. Well done everyone!

Step into an in-between world, where the stages of grief are employees in an office specializing in healing. This seemingly goofy premise takes our protagonist on an intense emotional journey, as we follow her on her way to Acceptance. A powerful piece of new writing, exploring how we grieve, with compelling performances from an all-women cast.

It's a touching exploration of how we deal with loss and find our way back to happiness. A beautifully done and thought-provoking performance.

7 Steps to Feel Completely Happy Again is a Fringe must-see. To tackle such serious motifs without once boring the audience, and instead finding every opportunity to successfully get both laughs and tears is no easy feat, and a testament both to their writing and performance. The four beautiful girls in their beautiful costumes lead you on an emotional journey through grief, successfully and hilariously personifying both the stages, as well as the human experience of them. Their chemistry as actors is evident, with a lot of genuine love evident at the core of this production.

Didn’t know wether to laugh or cry. Seven steps is a touching piece for anyone who has experienced grief. A strong message at the end and a massive success in making light of a dark topic. Encouraging people to accept their grief in their own way, this play shines as one of the best shows I’ve seen.

The 7 steps play is not only deeply moving but somehow comical and funny at the same time. It is a testament to the playwright's courage to delve so deeply into their personal pain and transform it into a piece of art that is both profoundly moving and universally relatable. The performances are equally compelling and demonstrate different facets of grief in a very entertaining way.

Seven steps is a beautifully written play from the heart. It is so clear when watching that all cast/production members understand the weight of this topic, performing with immense grace and skill. As someone who doesn’t have much experience with grief, I went into the theatre not expecting to be so deeply moved, so I truly applaud the team and thank them for an amazing show.

It's not often that a show can leave you reflecting on, and floating in your own emotions for hours after watching. The combination of flawless acting and insane writing threw me between laughing out loud and uncontrollably crying before processing what I had watched, in the best possible way. Timing was perfect, each scene was personable and engaging, and the concept behind the story is incredibly thought out. A definite must watch of the fringe.

7 Steps is masterfully written, tip-toeing the tight rope of comedy & serious drama. The actors are so incredibly in control of the content, jolting you from laughter one minute to tears the next. A masterclass in surprisingly delightful theatre writing that really makes you think!! A real must-see, and one of my favourite shows of the Fringe this year!
