Description
Nicknamed 'the Hendrix of the Kora', Seckou is celebrated for his ingenious tunings and virtuosity. He formed his Senegalese eight-piece band in 2020 and they’ve been lifting audiences to their feet and leaving them buzzing ever since! Backing the kora are the dynamic, uplifting and hypnotic rhythms of bass (Modou Gueye), percussion (Kemo Cissokho), drums (Matar N'Diongue), keyboard (Moussa N'Gom) and extraordinary vocals (Seckou, Korka Dieng, Binta Suso). Dieng, one of Senegal's best known singers is renowned for her versatility and distinctive vocals. The line-up is completed by Moustapha Gaye, lead guitarist for Youssou n'Dour. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted.
