Description

Sam Dodgshon has been collecting photos. Thousands of photos. 25 years' worth. He'd like to show you some of them now. A new show from alternative clown, existential-dreading man-child Sam Dodgshon which uses a lifetime's worth of photos to examine memory, chronicle childhood and attempt to answer the question: 'why is everything the way that it is and how will people remember me when I die?' Praise for Sam: 'The stuff of body-shaking laughter' (Scotsman). ***** (Entertainment-Now.com). 'Always interesting and intelligent in his idiosyncratic funny' (Scotsman [a different time]).

An authentically funny and heartwarming show. Sam's material for this performance and his other shows were a highlight of the Fringe for us!

Excellent. Very very well put together. This man is utterly brilliant. I loved it. So funny and very entertaining, thank you!

Sam's show has definitely been one of the most pleasant surprises of this year's Fringe for me. Starting from a relatively simple premise (a need to delete some photos from the computer due to lack of space), Sam takes the audience on a journey across the experiences that are later created and remembered as memories through something as simple as a random photo or short video.
I also feel there is something very profound that resonates with all of us about how difficult it can be to decide which pictures to delete, which memories to let go of, or the meaning that a memory has if we need a photo in order to remember it.
I don't know, I just thought it was a great show. I was expecting a bit of funny comedy with some anecdotes about some funny pictures, and I left feeling read. If you have the time, it is really worth seeing.
10/10

A fun and thought provoking look at our attachment to that modern day problem - rather photo library.

Really enjoyed it.

exactly what i want from a fringe show, orginal and organic comedy. hilarious and insightful but not preachy. just a funny guy’s life presented well.

Not entirely sure what I was expecting from this show but it didn’t include Harry Styles and inappropriate footwear.
Childhood memories, revisiting the past and a nod to a future legacy we all might leave.
Very entertaining, funny but also thought provoking. What should we delete from our memories. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Seemed like a simple idea for a show, but touches on some very profound themes about memory and identity (albeit handled lightly). Sam is a very charismatic and confident performer.

Sam's show is a roller coaster of emotions- one minute you're laughing, the next you're feeling nostalgic and emotional, wanting to rush home and look through your own photos. Just go and watch this man tell you his story for an hour and then give him all your money. You won't regret it.
