Description

Join Candace as she reflects on the complicated path to coming out as gay, and what her rural church community has to say about it. From listening to ABBA to first seeing Keira Knightly in Bend It Like Beckham, Saint explores many of the revolutionary and queer-coded moments we experience growing up. An intimate one-woman performance with striking honesty and humour, Saint is a bold new show that dissects sexuality and the social pressures of growing up gay. Sin, repent, repeat baby!

Wow. Can I just say I've never ran home fast enough to post a review for a show before. But here I am, speedwalking down the streets of Edinburgh, tears streaming down my face because I was so incredibly touched by the show. Seriously, someone give this woman (Candace!!) a freakin' TV show!!! Her acting reminded me of Phoebe Waller-Bridge in that it was so incredibly emotive and genuine. I loved watching Candace's coming out story unfold. This is a must watch for ANYONE. It's about a queer love story that anyone can relate to. Also, I might have a crush on Candace??? (IN THE MOST PROFESSIONAL, RESPECTABLE, NON-CREEPY WAY POSSIBLE). She's amazing and I cannot wait to keep following her journey and see her rise to fame. Seriously, if you're not watching this show, you're missing out. Please listen to me and believe me. One of the best shows at the Fringe and they're only here til the 10th!!! I'm going to see it AGAIN. 5/5 stars! I know it means nothing from a weirdo like me, but truly, go see it!!!

This show is so well done and even has an Immersive element. So cool! There are serious moments but funny moments as well. I also love a certain thing that happens but can't say because it'll be a spoiler.

It's a great late night show to see!

Really brilliant show. Both hilariously funny and emotive, they've done an amazing job! Also we LOVED being slut shamed by Mary!
