A strangely nostalgic parody of TV history. Not only was it hysterically funny, but its SO clever too! The characters were equal parts ridiculous and worryingly realistic.
Rory Cargill has the rare ability to have his audience cryiing with laughter whilst simultaneously feeling sentimental about the past.
This was my favourite show at the Fringe this year and I would recommend anyone to see it!!

Fantastic show - slick, inventive and hilarious!!

I actually felt a bit hysterical towards the end of this show in the very best way. First thing me and my friend mentioned after leaving was how intelligent Rory has to be to create a show like this, very creative and very very funny!!! A must-see as the Fringe comes to a close. x

Blummin’ brilliant, a love letter, if you will, to the golden days of steam driven telly. From archaic 50s adverts to 70s children’s magazine programmes, to sitcoms with bizarre catchphrases which baffle modern audiences, and the coming of Big Brother, Celebrity this n that and reality television. All done with a clear eye on the parody, a side order of slapstick, and a smidgen of the ‘talent’s’ overactive egos.

A superb hour of hi jinx for archive tv aficionados and casual viewers alike, and particularly anyone who watched tv in the 70s, 80s & 90s BUT it’s not essential if you haven’t.

Terrific work, Rory and friends. A fabulous show you should be justly proud of. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Extremely funny show and very well put together. Lots of energy from start to finish and a hilarious mix of characters. If you’re not sure about booking this show… DO IT! You’ll leave with a smile on your face and a bit of wee in your pants.

Saw this show after a recommendation and I love a sketch show. Rory is super funny and the show is great. Fantastic mix of video and live comedy. Great sketches and really funny. I loved this and will definitely see more of his shows in future. Go see it, you won't regret it!

A brilliantly entertaining show. Loads of attention to detail and non-stop clever gags. It's energetic, inventive and tons of fun. If you like TV you'll love it.

Rory has created a show that is nothing short of marvellous. He’s a deeply silly man and this is one hour of deeply silly behaviour. Really well written and an excellent multimedia show. I’m very proud of him. Xxxx

Go see Television 1! The show is funny and clever, combining recorded tv sketches with the live performance in really creative ways! Would definitely recommend! Brings a twist I’d not seen in any show before.

Wow! See it!
Funny is an understatement. Television 1 takes you back in time and forward to the future of broadcasting with a gifted performer. Innovative skits made me ponder and seriously giggle. You can tell a lot of work/thought has been put into creating this.
I've been to hundreds of shows as a local fringe attender and this is undoubtedly one of the best!
Don't miss out, I'm going to see it again for sure.

A multimedia sensation. From start to finish, I was heaving and howling with laughter. Rory goes through 100 years of British television in 1 hour. So many brilliant BRILLIANT characters and concepts, often ones that take sudden and unpredictable turns into the bizarre and surreal. Rory is a master of character, and main character Beau Creme is a fantastic combination of detestable and loveable. 5 stars. I wish I could see it all over again!

This was the 7th show I saw at 2024 Ed Fringe, and my Show of the Day (of 5 shows Friday) and I will edit this with a link to a video review if permitted. I have now recorded 12 video reviews but this needs an oldschool edfringe written review.
A lot of big laughs produced. Thoroughly wackily enjoyable.
I often ask myself if the act has really brought us a show.
Rory Cargill brings a show. Bigtime.
Grab a beer, fellow fans of the wacky... and have an adulterated, or unadulterated, laugh. It's upto you.
