Description
Touring his Alive and Gigging show, covering the Mersey-soaked sound of his quintessential 60s start, through to tender meditations on fatherhood and family, and on to political sendups, pandemic playfulness and brilliant new writing. A performance poet like no other, he is bringing his best pieces to the stage for new and old audiences alike. Aged 87, he is a force of nature – and poetry. Is poetry the new rock’n’roll? …It always was! ‘The patron saint of poetry’ (Carol Ann Duffy). 'McGough has done for poetry what champagne does for weddings’ (Time Out). Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted.
