Description

Reuben Kaye and his band are back with the UK debut of his award-nominated show Live and Intimidating! The obscenely intelligent, rib-crackingly funny Reuben Kaye returns to the Edinburgh Fringe in an explosion of high camp and filthy humour. With musical direction by Shanon Whitelock and original compositions, this Swarovski-studded revolt is what happens when you tell your children they can be anything. 'A star in their own right, with razor-sharp comedic material, a glamorous look and killer voice to boot' ***** (Skinny). ***** (Time Out). ***** (Chortle.co.uk).

Another absolutely stand-out show from Reuben - the gift that keeps on giving. Perfect venue for this tour-de-force of an artist. I am always so excited to see Reuben's work and then tell EVERYONE about it. The comedy award nomination says it all - such an important voice for the strange time we are living in.

Reuben Kaye was not on my radar before but having been recommended the show and saw great reviews I knew I had to fit it in and I am so glad I did. From Reuben greeting everyone at the door (I said "You're popular" to which he swiftly replied "I try my best to sleep around, I know a lot of people" I knew we were going to be in for a great show. It was just brilliant, laugh out loud, what voice! accompanied by a great band on stage. It was one of my Top Two Fringe shows (the other being Jake Roche). A perfect end to my 2024 Fringe.

At the absolute top of his game. An hour that’s both outrageously funny but also impactful at the same time. A real delight.

No one does it like Reuben Kaye, he's a master of the art form. If you're into queer comedy, if you're into cabaret, if you're into socialism, if you're into roast humour, if you're into amazing vocals, he's without peer.

I skipped dinner to see this and it was worth it. Ruben Kaye is a true professional.

Reuben just gets better each year we see him. Professional, polished, hysterically funny, thought provoking, astute and heartbreaking all within 60 mins. And that voice! Run to see his show this year.

Fantastic night out. Funny, cutting humour. Loved it. Go see this! If you are very brave, sit at the front!!

Really loved that Reuben strongly pushes and promotes other shows and supports artists that are less well known. Generous!

100 out of 5 stars! Reuben is absolutely hilarious, as well as deep thinking, wise... And a wonderful singer! I've never laughed and smiled so much in my life. Reuben is an amazing performer, gripping the entire audience from the second you walk through the door of the venue. He's gained a loyal fan tonight

His show Live and Intimidating is ablaze with defiance, and through brilliant songs, quick wit and his trademark filthy humour, he turns that rage into art.

Despite this being one of the larger fringe venues, it feels intimate, Kaye interacts with the audience, mingling between us. Kaye is a captivating performer, effortlessly hilarious, and creates a warm atmosphere that means you don’t ever want to leave.
