Description

Reject Me, Already is an original romcom musical where you play the matchmaker! Step into the story of Cameron and Casey, two hopeless romantics looking for their “someone”, their soulmate. They know they’re out there, they just don’t know who it is. And in this romcom… neither do the actors. Not until showtime. Then, it’s up to the audience to pick who plays which role, and who ends up with who. Six actors, six roles, one story... over twenty possibilities. Take a little chance on love in this jazzy, big-hearted, feel-good musical from newcomer Paul Richard Keegan.

The concept is interesting, but it didn't really go anywhere. In the beginning, the audience votes by show if hands which actors should play the main couple. Then, you'll vote for the secondary couple, and the two actors left over pick up multiple smaller roles. You're not given much info beyond the names of the characters and the actors, so you vote based on vibes and looks. It feels a bit like an unnecessary popularity contest and made me a bit uncomfortable.
That's it with the "you're the matchmaker". From there, the story works the same way every night, when it could have been interesting to introduce two or three points in the story where the audience can choose what happens next - will Casey follow Cameron? Should the friends interfere or not?
That would also help hide that the plot itself is less compelling and more a collection of 90s romcom tropes without added value
It's a neat idea, but just doesn't go far enough. For what it's worth, my romcom loving partner did enjoy the show a lot more than I did.

Fantastic concept, and the cast were all amazing in their roles! To be told just minutes before they perform which character they're playing demonstrates all of their immense talent. An uplifting and feel-good show, perfect for a light-hearted way to end your evening.

This show set the bar pretty darn high and I’m not sure there are many shows that will surpass it…
Firstly, the cast are pretty freakin talented I must say. I was invested the whole way through this story. The singing absolutely floored me and the comedic timing was excellent. This one is a must watch as far as I’m concerned. Get these guys a bigger venue Goddammit lol.
I don’t even normally go for musicals but this one is delightful. So happy I got to see it!

Such a sweet show!!! Left me (and I'm sure everyone else) happier than when we came in :) Just a feel good show, and very easy to connect with the characters - numerous times, you could feel the entire room just light up with joy

Also very well written music that's easy to get stuck in your head (in a good way)! And quite impressive that the whole cast has to learn and be ready to perform each part for any given performance! I wouldn't mind going back just to see the members of the cast in different roles!

If you want to bring a smile to your face, go see this show!
