Description

Welcome to Hackton! Cyclists can’t get to Hackton library, literacy rates are dropping, cyclists can barely name a single book, library membership is dwindling and Hackton council have to do something about it! Old grudges resurface as two departments work together to save the library. Time is running out as they have to convince you, the citizens of Hackton, to vote for the right solution. Following a sell-out run of Stuck in the Mud last year, Evie Cowen returns to Fringe with a brand-new, quick-witted comedy exploring cycle paths, libraries, chess, the PTA and lots of yoga!

A clever script delivered by a well drilled cast who are all clearly enjoying performing together. No lulls in a fast paced show blessed with slick interplay that You can’t fail to enjoy. So glad I caught this one.

A highlight of my trip to this year’s fringe. A wonderfully written new comedy around local politics. Brilliantly cast, the actors delivered the witty dialogue perfectly. The individual characters really shon through and they worked brilliantly as a team - all equally as committed as the other. I loved all the sub plots and the hilarious presentation graphics. What can I say - but I’m looking forward to the spin off sitcom !!

Absolutely brilliant political satire (or is it closer to the truth than we might like to believe?) with a cracking script and stunning razor sharp performances all round. A real gem

I absolutely loved this show - one of my favorites at the Fringe! The pacing was so quick and the writing was so clever. The audience participation was an added treat. I was also impressed with the technical elements in the show, it made it feel like a play/tv show hybrid. This is truly my type of show and I enjoyed every moment!

Witty writing, clever use of AV elements, and well done by the cast. A fun tongue-in-cheek satire on local politics.

Such a hilarious production, reminding me of Tom Basden’s writing! The cast were so excellently cast and completely on top of everything, a great example of how amazing student productions can be. If you’re looking for witty, fast-paced comedy, I could not recommend this show more. 5 stars!

The tight, witty writing and pitch-perfect performances from the cast come together to make this a whip-smart, hilariously biting political satire. You would never guess that this was a student production – it could easily pass for a professional piece. A fantastic show easily worth double the current ticket price.
