Description
We need not stay dormant forever… When everything around Devin continues to grow and decay, why is the flower in his room showing no signs of change? Intertwined with a score inspired by the innate disorder of the natural world, Pulse flickers between an academic dissection of a growing environmental crisis, an emotional examination of the human condition, and snapshots of a sibling relationship, posing the question – when all of nature seems to be governed by randomness and chaos, why is that same flower now producing a steady pulse? Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Pulse is an intriguing, sensitive exploration of human relationships, especially that between siblings. That's not often the focus of drama and is all the more interesting as a result. But the play is more than that - it delves into how we perceive the natural world and leaves us more receptive and curious about where we stand in relation to our family, friends and the environment around us. The play is well performed and evidently well rehearsed. Bravo!

This is a seriously thought provoking show. I saw it 3 days ago and I'm still processing it! Pulse takes an hour to draw us into the mind of a teenager in lockdown, and if that's a place you want to go then it will give you an insight to treasure. It's a searingly honest piece of writing which must have been costly to it's writer. And the acting is so well honed that it looks effortless though I suspect that it wasn't. Pulse is a piece of Art.

Absolutely loved this play at the Edinburgh Fringe, it is definitely worth your time. The performances by the talented actors are strong and well-executed, and the clever direction keeps the audience engaged. Definitely make a point of seeing Pulse and be sure to catch it before it wraps up—an interesting and beautiful performance not to be missed.

Hidden gem of the Fringe. Beautiful, clever, strange, magical. We really, really loved this show. The themes were deftly woven together, the acting was superb all round, and the music / natural score was so evocative throughout. This is the kind of show that will leave us daydreaming about it for weeks on end. Wonderful.
