Description

When tasked by her tech CEO fiancé to explain the four times she has cried in public since they started dating, overachieving journalist Anya Samuel can't help but bring her A-game. As she prepares a slide deck complete with animated infographics of her menstrual cycle, Anya is forced to confront harsh truths about who she really is and what she actually wants. Written with searing wit and insight by Amanda Chong, Psychobitch is a thought-provoking one-woman show boldly dissecting gender power dynamics and toxic relationships, while challenging us to examine the concessions we make in our search for love.

The best show here! I had to watch it twice! It was beautifully written; a perfect mix of witty and meaningful moments. The actress, Sindhura Kalidas, who played Anya gave a stellar performance as well! So glad I managed to catch this amazing show!!!

I really enjoyed this show but as others have said the marketing/picture really lets it down. It was well performed an took interesting and engaging approach to many issues about relationships, family and culture
Go see it.

This show is really well crafted and performed. I think the marketing let's it down a little, as it suggests that it's going to be something different. It's a really heartfelt, genuine look at a toxic relationship. The performer embodies each character expertly well. Really enjoyed!

This play was both subtle, nuanced and laugh-out-loud funny as it explored the conflicting pressures faced by high-achieving millennial professional women and the way age-old tales of exploitation can lurk under the gloss of tech bro speak and girl bosses.

Sindhu Kalidas delivered zinger lines both as Anya Samuels and her boyfriend Galven, somehow conveying with just a powerpoint and her body language a whole cast of characters from Singapore society and the charm, disillusionment and brutality of a relationship.

This is a rare chance to catch an original and thought-provoking play that was a sell-out in Singapore. It['s a hidden Fringe gem that deserves bigger audiences!

I attended this show a bit begrudgingly, based on the marketing, figuring it'd be a silly rant. Instead I was overwhelmed by this brilliant, funny, and deeply moving tale of a woman's search for love. Universal and yet fully ethnically/religiously/culturally specific, the title is as wrong for the show as it was for the character to be called - and thereby becomes a superb title. It will rightly be seen and judged as a play about women's experiences, and as one about Indian and Singaporean culture stresses. However as a white American male, I related fully to the story and struggles. Recommended it to about ten friends who already have seen it, and now (back in the States) I'm telling people about it who are asking how they will be able to catch it. They can't. If you can, go!

This show should be SOLD OUT. It is an emotional roller coaster that is at once bittersweet and tense. It is steeped in sharp comedy and close observations of the dynamics of abusive interracial relationship with all its gaslighting, manipulation and power imbalance. It's also about family relationships, how we all love differently and how we make mistakes when we love.

A must see! This show makes the audience laugh, cry and feel frustration for the main character. It stays with you and has your mind returning to it for days afterwards. An exceptional writer and brilliant actor make this show a witty commentary on the pursuit of love and the female experience. Very relatable for any woman who has dated in her late 20s/30s! But a fantastic show for all.

Went through an entire rollercoaster of emotions during this play, couldn't recommend it more! I felt sadness, exhilaration, and anger for the character and was rooting so badly for her. Go see it!!

The ending of this play was so moving, I'm still thinking about it the next day. To go where love already is, instead of always feeling the urge to strive for it... i had a lump in my throat while listening to the actress delivering her lines. Also - I laughed many times while watching the journey to get to those lines. Great concept and execution by the writer, crew and performer. Go see this show!

An EDFRINGE must-see with a punchy and poignant script, showcasing humour and pathos in this superb one-woman theatrical execution with pertinent layering of societal and relational issues and on-point production and direction - well done to the cast and crew !
