Description
As children they were evacuated from a war zone. Fifty years on, Barton and Andy are still trying to find out who they are. Precious Cargo is a powerful, timely new show about the life-long impact of the Vietnam war, by Australian writer-performer Barton Williams (Huynh van Cuong) and Hebridean composer Andy Yearley (Nguyen Tang). Drawing on interviews with Operation Babylift adoptees from across the world, it is a story about the chaos of conflict, childhood trauma, racism and a generation running out of time to find lost families. Directed by Fringe First winner Laura Cameron-Lewis.Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. A gut wrenching and raw look at the lives of international transracial adoptees and their enduring search for their families, identity, heritage, and the truth. Operation Babylift is one of many programs that led to the mass exodus of children from countries like China, Korea, and Vietnam, spreading the diaspora across oceans, borders, and cultures.

Excellent show - a poignant look into survivors of Operation Babylift who were scattered across the Western world, how they grew up, coped, met each other and in some cases reconciled their past lives. Don't miss.

A moving tribute and deep dive into to the lives of three who have been removed from their homeland due to war. A beautifully told and directed show. Thank you.
