A famous artist invites her old friends to her luxurious new home. For one night only, the group is back together. But celebrations come to an abrupt end when the host suffers a horrific accident. As the victim lies in a coma, an almost unthinkable plan starts to take shape: could her suffering be their next work of art? A visceral and shocking play about the fragility of friendship and jealousy inspired by success. This amateur production of Pool (No Water) is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk

Pool is a roller coaster ride that doesn't let up until the very end.

A famous artist invites her former friends over one night, and so begins an ambitious climb that continues to escalate and increase in energy until the play's brutal climax.

The cast create a physical ensemble, fully creating the immersive world of the play through some really effective movement pieces and lighting effects.

Despite being so ensemble based, the energy, focus, and commitment of each of the actors shines through. Each of these characters are equal parts manic, hillarious, and more and more terrifying in what they're prepared to — and you're sold on it every time. It's so clear in both the performances that these characters are completely co-dependent.

It's full of laughs, layered performances, and some gut-wrenching moments during the play's darker parts.

Grips you from beginning to end.

One I will remember forever! A lesson on inner demons that confronts our jealousy, guilt and escapism alongside those jokes we tell to make ourselves make light of our situations. A must see with a captivating cast! Beautiful work!

A stellar performance from the entire cast of Pool No Water. The show had me captivated from start to finish and the cast were like electric to watch on stage. 5 Stars

This production kept me spellbound throughout. The actors flowed seamlessly (verbally and by movement) together for a very intense hour. The story was brilliantly portrayed with a lot of dark humour . Do not miss this one. It is a gem.

A whirlwind play that will keep your attention from beginning to end.
I laughed, I was never bored and I was challenged, so what more can you want?
Every beat is so well paced and every actor brings more than something to the table.
I enjoyed myself and I'm sure you will too!

Pool: No Water is a show that Pulls: No Punches.

An extraordinarily gripping performance from start to finish from a young cast who's mature and supple performance belies their tender years. The sharp and forthright dialogue is delivered in the hive mind-like manner of a long-married couple that finish each other’s sentences. It’s fast, emotional, undoubtedly clever, and darkly humorous.

The story tells a twisted, intense tale that’s laced with black humour throughout. Although the stage may be sparse each scene is filled to bursting with fervent performances all bathed in beautifully pared back lighting that lends an extra dimension to an already dynamic show.

Don’t allow the plethora of choice at this year’s Fringe to allow you to overlook Pool: No Water. There is undeniably something special brewing on that stage and you won’t want to miss it. Genuinely the real deal.

Incredible show by a wonderfully talented cast. The story is bewitching, haunting and vigorously dynamic. The actors each hold immense depth and intensity as they uncover their own elements of character and energy that constantly reveal new layers and stakes within the play. I was captivated from the start through to the end…the energy and power wielded in this performance is absolutely hypnotic. I’ve never seen a show so mesmerizing. Definitely don’t miss this one!

Sublime performance from an excellent ensemble cast. The characters use of nuance and movement draws in the whole audience. You really feel the emotions of the actors and the denouement when the protagonist realises the truth about the relationships she has with her friends is powerfully heartbreaking. Absolutely loved this show, all of the young cast should be extremely proud of this production.

An absorbing experience due to the wonderful intensity of the collective (and this is very collective) performers. There are flashes of humour but these are over shadowed by the dramatic narrative. Huge congratulations to the performers for their timing (you’ll know what I mean when you see it) and for their commitment. Well worth seeing.

What a fantastic show, so glad I got the opportunity to go. I went along with my teenage son (he’s quite mature for his age) and husband and the 3 of us were drawn in right from the start. The story was so powerful, very thought provoking, nitty gritty and you really felt for the characters. Well done to all involved if you are still to see this you won’t be disappointed. Well done to all involved

Well done!!! A masterful performance by the actors here and they should be very proud. The movement in this show is incredible, merging from the collective to the individual seamlessly and every aspect of this show was in service to the story. The humour landed very well too, because every one gave it there all.

I’ve heard good things about this play and I’m so glad I went to check it out! It was so visually stimulating and I was hooked throughout the whole show and part of that is because of the amazing performances by each of the actors. The characters they play are all so interesting. They all have different development and it’s really evident. It’s fun, it’s dark and it makes you question the morals of other people, definitely a must watch!

Very interesting play and brilliantly performed. I constantly felt involved and also torn between how to feel about the characters as the story progressed - excellent lighting and sound design too! Would recommend, just a note that it can be a bit intense :)
