“Plotters”
It’s the nineteenth century, and throughout the UK, there is money to be made robbing graves for private clients, many of whom might be famous doctors or professors, a loved one who cannot let go of the deceased, or maybe even the rumored rich guy who awaits with wedding cake an amorous evening with a young woman’s recently deceased body. What better circumstances for award-winning playwright , Brian Parks, to create a dark comedy about four societal misfits (once lawyer, journalist, and the like) who now reap their riches hauling off corpses and dodging the law and a sure hanging. In one hour, sixty-something scenes flash by with interactions peppered about in seemingly spontaneous manners. The pressure is on as they plan their final escapade. While the acting and direction are fabulous, the subject manner and plot are only mildly interesting in the end.

This is one hour of pure joy. Brilliant writing. A fun story - very original. Great word play. Four actors clearly enjoying themselves and excellent performances by each one. One of our fringe highlights. Superb storytelling.

This slick, funny and what the fringe is about real joy. We had 10 in our group and everyone loved this show.

Review copied across from partners twitter -
This was an absolute joy and beautiful piece of theatre - Intricate word play between the cast made for a fast paced story ratcheted up to the final denouement.

IMO Not funny for comedy and overly amateur for theatre. Saying things in threes very fast is not the same as humour. Some other people laughed though; they mostly seemed to be Americans. Perhaps that is the target audience.

Wow. I had not read anything about this show so when the plot had me hooked from the beginning, I took that as a good sign and wasn’t disappointed.

At an incredibly intimate venue, you can feel the cold breaths and the darkness closing in. The actors were all very good, and the twists and turns of the story held up well. Definitely good for a watch.

My wife and I about bust a gut laughing. You'd be forgiven if you can't triangulate Laugh-In, graverobbery and imabic pentameter in your head ... believe me, it all works brilliantly. And the actors are clearly having a ball. I think if you dig wordplay, musicality, and farce in any form, you will have a ball as well!

In this small theatre setting I'm really impressed how these actors use their creativity to set scenes and maintain concentration when so close to their audience.
This was a great and amusing performance.
Well done!

Very entertaining comedy with a twist ending! Great cast of 4 who are in sync with each other. 4/5. A good, light-hearted watch!

"every aspiring drama student really ought to get themselves down to George Street to watch how the directors Margarett Perry and Natalie Tell have ensured this company deliver pace, articulation, and bounce off each other."
