Description
Dr Phil (Private Eye, Doctor Doctor, Sex, Sleep or Scrabble?) dissects the ins and outs of pleasure using science, stories and stuff he's made up. Is your pleasure thermostat set at a level that won't destroy you? Are the ingredients of your pleasure soup correct or are you drowning in pleasure? Do you pleasure yourself and others in a safe and sustainable way? Where does pain fit in? Why do people pleasure themselves so unusually? From philately to consensual cannibalism. There are a few performers I seek out every year at the Festival Fringe and Dr Phil Hammond is one of them. This new show reminded me why. Showcasing his trademark mixture of laugh-aloud humour, serious points, medical knowledge, and thoughtful suggestions, this defies temporal laws by making an hour feel far shorter.
I never fail to walk away from one of Dr Hammond's shows mindful of healthcare in the UK and my own personal health (physical and mental), in a positive way that encourages me to do better. The Ins and Outs of Pleasure ticks all the boxes and I'll be first in the queue for the next show down the line.

I thought this was a fantastic show. Very sharp, very warm, very funny. Some very useful advice on staying happy as well

Dr Phil is full of optimism, suitably rude and a consummate performer.
Great fun. *****.

Dr Phil Hammond was fantastic - a consumate performer, he had me belly laughing one minute and considering really serious issues the next. He is witty, engaging and very, very funny. I saw 9 shows during my stay in Edinburgh and this was probably my top selection.

Not only funny, but warm and positive too. Not only did I laugh a lot during the show, it will also leave me smiling for a long time to come.

Always an entertaining, informative and thought provoking hour. Hilarious and great observational comedy.
