Description

Persistent Shadows is a narrative-driven piece of work exploring the historical, political and social landscape of Britain throughout the 1980s and drawing parallels to issues faced by the people of Britain during the time as well as today. Join us as we are plunged into the heart of the acid house rave scene, lowered into the mines of East Kent, and shipped out to sea to fight in the Falklands. The show is highly energetic, fast paced and frequently utilises physical theatre to interweave the shifts in atmosphere and setting.

Terrific company and piece. Really interesting work.
Amazing use of a difficult space with a strongly delivered, hard-worked ensemble piece. Good storytelling and seamless use of costume and props.
Talented bunch. Thank you.

A really enjoyable show that weaves its way through many issues through strong characters and well written dialogue. Can’t wait to see where this show and company go next!

We saw Persistent Shadows on Tuesday the 20th and thought it was great! It was truly an ensemble piece of theatre and the cast worked very well together. It was thought-provoking, covered a lot of historical and social ground, but also had moments of light and humour. The clash between the married couple was especially effective in showing the precarity of gendered family positions and socialist movements. If you hate Thatcher, you'll love this.
