Description

All aboard for a musical adventure with Oxford University's finest mixed a cappella group! A Fringe favourite for over 15 years that promises laughter and stunning vocal harmonies. Featuring a repertoire that spans from the timeless classics of Queen, Toploader, and the Weather Girls, to modern hits from Coldplay, Billie Eilish and Frozen. One of UK's longest-running student a cappella groups, the Alternotives stand out with their unique style and invigorating escape from Oxford's traditional chapel-choir scene. Previous years have seen them perform on BBC1's Pitch Battle and UK Finals of the ICCA.

I enjoyed the show, but I really don't understand why they were using amplification. Totally unnecessary in a room that size, and it took away from the magic of hearing accapella voices.

It was a long hour, Screechy soprano, they all looked miserable, no coordination, didn't recognise some of the compilations despite knowing the songs. It felt awkward being in the audience. 1star from me & guest. The best part was the entitled parent wanting in despite being full and telling the venue staff "his daughter is the company"

This was an enjoyable way to spend an hour. There was a good mixture of songs and the energy was great! There was a mix of singing ability between the soloists but when they all sang together it sounded brilliant!

An incredible range of vocal talent and fun group choreography brings fresh energy to well known classics. If you liked Pitch Perfect, you’ll love this!

Go and see this - it’s fun, it’s professional and you will leave feeling happier! Variety of songs and styles well sung and well put together from an enthusiastic and talented cast. It’s worth it just for Mr Blue Skies.
