Absolutely transporting - expert storytelling combined with incredibly impressive magic. What an absolute thrill!

I know David Alnwick as a magician and, although there is some magic here, this is a story-telling session. Lots of research has gone into this and Dave's a master of the art - easily holding the audience in his hand.

Easily the best show I saw at this year's Fringe, and I saw A LOT of shows.

Dave is an incredibly charismatic and talented performer, and this theatrical tale of the origins of Dracula and stories from the occult is nothing short of INCREDIBLE.

Enthralling one-person performance with flawless stage presence and atmosphere, and a smattering of magic tricks as examples of occultist acts. It felt like the whole audience was mesmerised by Alnwick's charismatic and well-paced delivery. As a former Literature student with an interest in Gothic horror and the Victorian era, I found myself wishing that my lecturers had been able to bring the subject to life like this! Well worth your time and money. 5/5 stars.

As a fan of the occult and especially of the legends of the undead, this show was perfect for me. An interesting journey of discovery, told by a master storyteller. This is not about magic, it's about mystery. So adjust your expectations accordingly if you're going for "Alnwick the magician".

Very enjoyable late evening entertainment.

Have yet to be as enthralled by another show as I was by this one. Edge of my seat, audible gasps, and the sweatiest palms. Absolutely mind blowing.

David Alnwick is an incredible storyteller and anyone with even the slightest interest in the occult will enjoy the story he weaves in this show. Incredible - I can't wait for more!

A talk with some magic tricks, this is less 'wham bang, here's another trick' than his other shows and more 'think about this...'

Having something like this as well as the pure magic show is what makes the Fringe so great.

David Alnwick is not only one of the best (I'd say THE best), magicians on the Fringe, but also one of the best storytellers. I haven't seen a fringe audience that captivated and fully engaged for a while. Everyone in the room was hanging on his every word. The magic was flawlessly performed and already impressive tricks were enhanced by the atmosphere he seemed to create so effortlessly. Expertly executed in every way. The man is an absolute pro and a real fringe hero.

Gripping and informative, twists and turns aplenty.

Very good show. A few magical tricks here and there (two of them explained - one overtly, the other one more subtly), but the storytelling is the centrepiece here. An engrossing journey into the rabbit hole of connections between the novel Dracula, ancient occult traditions and Victorian spiritualism.

A fun and intriguing show, with some really interesting surprises

David Wells 114 days ago

Incredible. An engrossing mystery intricately woven together around a magical performance.
