SO GOOD … I saw it twice! Mitch Hara is a GENIUS … ok he may have told me to say that! A solo performance by Mitch as Adam Astra (or Zoolander I’m not sure) auditioning for a part in Hamilton Unplugged - so convincing you feel part of the audition - a wild, unique, energetic and searingly honest ride through the passage of time of addiction, revenge and a dysfunctional family life. His Father and Mother characters come alive with creative dialogue and expressive body mime (I just can’t get his mom out of my head), your heart may break at young Adam waiting for the Tom Thumb bus. But wait there’s more. Hold on whilst you go ‘glitter balls deep’ into TV debuts, car crash chaos and disco interludes - I wanna go back and party like it’s 1979 with this West Hollywood legend! Oh and I’m a Shakespeare nut too, so wasn’t disappointed in the Hot Fellas ‘Puck’ Pizza Boy Delivery Dialogue… my only remaining thought is … was he a demon or a fairy??? 5 STARS *****

Mutant Olive 2.0 is everything that Showmanship can be: charmingly engaging, supremely funny, heartwrenchingly true and super touching. It is genius story-telling and pragmatic dedication to the bleak truth, where humor saves from despair. Thank you Mitch Hara for going through the wringer and giving us with this shocking 'coming of age' story. Art as Truth. I felt uplifted and happy leaving your performance.

Well, I happened to walk past Mitch in the street on my way from and to Fringe performances. It is not possible to walk past Mitch and not engage in conversation - so I ended up seeing Mutant Olive 2.0 impromptu.
And I am so glad I did!
Mitch's story is a fab and sad story about parental abuse and neglect, about body image, mental health, prison, rehab and a calamitous life - told with furious pace, humour, humanity, devastating emotion and spellbinding acting.
Thank you Mitch -what a pleasure to meet you!

A beautiful and hilarious hour of brilliant and captivating storytelling. Mitch’s performance is both fabulously bombastic and exquisitely vulnerable. The themes of childhood trauma, addiction and body image are all dealt with expertly and touchingly - with just the right dash of humour. You are in entirely safe hands with Mitch Hara, a top class showman. Truly - do not miss this show. FIVE STARS

Mitch is a fantastic performer, physically and emotionally— and he takes us through a life story with highs and lows that we all want to know about and no one wants to live through. Thank God we have him. And if our lives seem mundane compared to his, why is it that we can still relate to the parental relationships and need for forgiveness and love he leaves us with? Only the gods of theater know. Or maybe in this case, a very campy and then ultimately wise Puck, another merry wanderer of the night. Go!

What happens when a tender child is born into an impossibly hostile environment? How can art act as a life raft? I felt privileged to take this wild ride into Mitch Hera's mind. This show grabs you and won't let go.
