Description

The music of Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass is both beautifully simple and yet complex to convey. Iain Carleton and Elaine Crighton have spent hours transcribing highlights from their catalogue of recordings, including emotive melodies and guitar mastery on songs like My Ship and Moonlight in Vermont alongside playful interplay on tunes like One Note Samba and Green Dolphin Street. This show will be a glimpse into the musical chemistry of their collaboration that inspired and captivated audiences around the world and made an indelible mark on the jazz genre.

A brilliant, creative performance in an atmospheric venue - I loved this show. You could see how passionate Elaine and Ian are about the music they play. They put so much love and admiration into their performance and they both sounded amazing. At several points I had my eyes closed and it felt like Ella was among us!! Well worth a visit at this year's fringe.

I went to watch Elaine & Iain’s Fringe Show last week & it was amazing! They delivered not only beautiful vocals and guitar skills, but they completely encaptured the audience with the wonderful music and story of Ella Ftizgerald & Joe Pass. It felt special to be amongst the atmosphere there as everyone loved it and you could feel the passion Elaine & Iain have for their craft through their music and story telling. Elaine has the most beautiful relaxed and nurturing way with the audience and I didn’t want to leave. Wonderful show! Get your tickets before you miss out ! 10/10
