Description
Welcome to the Land of Cardboard, where friendship lurks around every corrugated crease! On his loneliest birthday yet, rotten little Huxley is whisked away by the timeless Mr. Cardboard! This disturbingly delightful 'unhinged Pixar film' (satisfied viewer) folds the grotesque into the beautiful. It warms the heart and rips it along its perforated edge. Take his hand and Think Cardboard Thoughts! 'Surreal, sinister and side-splittingly funny. Mr. Cardboard is the perfect show.' (Luke Rollason, Disney+'s Extraordinary). 'Dark, funny, occasionally poignant, wilfully odd' (British Comedy Guide). An award-winning comedy by Miles Calderon and Levi Meltzer. Dir. Will Spence. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Saw this last week and it was wierd and ridiculous but very very funny. Leaves strange images that are still stuck in my head!! A good thing -- I think

Fantastic show. When seeing smaller fringe shows there's always a level of awkwardness I'm prepared for. This is the first show I've seen that uses that to its advantage. It felt very self-aware of how close you are to the actors and the potential discomfort that comes with that. I swear sometimes they used this to make it feel like a horror but mostly they used it for humour. Sometimes they even used the closeness of the audience to allow for some personal moments that felt very genuine. They used this and the low budget to their advantage to present one of the most beautifully creative fringe shows I've ever seen. Very unique. Very funny. Great performances. I highly recommend it. You will leave the show wishing you had made it.

A tender, touching and hilarious return to the world of make believe performed with irreverant complicité between two talented men returned for a moment to boyhood. They extended their hands and took us along with them. Bravo!

A standout show for me this year. Absolutely everything I want from a clown comedy show in a yurt. Silly but memorable, very skilful work.

Incredible show! I laughed; I cried; I wanted to teach the world to sing afterward! Amazing writing, directing and acting and building such a rapport work the audience. Clowning is the future!

Favorite show of the Fringe, with Dr. Dolittle a close second! Funny, sweet, well executed clown show, at its best when the story arc shines through. A repeat watch revealed layers- how children learn to be better adults despite harsh parents, love of parents even when they’re not perfect, how we play, how relationships change. ***** when it stays on the rails, definitely worth multiple visits!

What a journey! Was the yurt absolutely boiling? Yes. Was the audience laughing with delight throughout? Yes. Mr. Carboard (and the chocolate-d Huxley) will take you to a world like no other! The show is funny, exciting and has granted us with an all-time favourite earworm: "it's-a-me-mister cardboooard". Absolutely recommend. Great guys, great time.

Incredible performances by way of clown, both Miles and Levi sit, stand, dance, and fly richly in character for (nearly…) the entire runtime. Teared up a bit remembering old friends. Missa Carbor and sweet hazelnut covered Huxley you will always be famous!

sorry I wanted to like this, but just found it very unfunny and quite cringey. Me and my friend seemed to be in the minority as there was a lot of giggling. It had a lot of promise at the start, but just not for me.

One of my unexpected highlights of the fringe! I'm not sure why but I completely loved this hour of absurd clowning that left me with joy and hurting cheeks from laughing! Beautiful, silly and strange!

You have to love a little bit of absurdist theatre at the fringe and this was just that. Great energy from both performers who played well opposite each other. The venue was hotter than hell! What did we learn from this show… a very good question.

This show was so funny and beautiful! Really wonderful play between 2 great clowns, laughed so much, learnt very little

Truly special! I've recommended this show to all my friends, and not just because Mr. Cardboard is cute. You'll leave wanting more.

One of the best shows I saw on the fringe. Delightful, suprising, of the wall crazy nonsensical sometimes but it comes together in a weird but wholesome way. The two performers complement eachother beautifully wich is rare. A clown show of a high level comparing to clown shows in the main venues such as Luke Rollason or Furiozo: man looking for trouble. If you like thoses shows you'll love this one.

Hilarious show, loads of fun and a magical journey. Exactly what I come to Edinburgh for. Non stop laughs, great characters. Would love to see more of Huxley.

If you like playful & whimsical storytelling comedy, this is the show for you. The essence of the show has a lot of heart and there are many laughs to be had along the way. From a critical perspective (and it is only the beginning of the run), the cues need to be massively tightened up and more direction given. If the audience aren't playing the game with the clown, the clown needs to make his instructions clearer! Also, the ending could be sharper and we wanted a more concise and energetic end-of-show patter. All in all, an enjoyable hour with a lot of promise!
