Description
Brand-new spoof adult musical with a “happy ending”! Born in Edwardian England, Mary Whitehouse was a religious moral campaigner and thorn in the side of the BBC in the 1960s and 70s during its modernisation from its formal and staid outlook when it began in 1923. The social and sexual revolution in the swinging 60s and 70s demanded greater freedoms for people who wanted pop music, fashion and consensual sexy fun. So how did Mary end up at a fetish party in a swingers club, and what happened? Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. If you don’t see any other show whilst at The Fringe, YOU MUST SEE THIS. Mary, Mary, is a fantastic laugh out loud comedy, beautifully written, really catchy (sex filled) songs (I want to be able to download them) and acted with style, every hilarious line/joke was perfectly delivered and so well received. The 8 strong cast were faultless and had tonight’s audience in the palm of their hands from the start. I laughed so much and they really deserved the standing ovation. Actually going to watch again tomorrow night. It deserves to be sold out and would be awesome on tour. Well done Andrew for your vision and Cre8ive Theatre Company for bringing Mary, Mary to life. Absolutely spanking production!!! GO SEE IT!!

“Mary Mary Quite Contrary - The Musical!” is an absolute scream! The cast delivers laugh-out-loud performances, bringing each quirky character to life with perfect comedic timing and infectious energy. Every actor shines, making it impossible to pick a favorite—they’re all that good!
The songs are incredibly catchy, with not a single dud in the lineup, thanks to the great musical direction that ties everything together seamlessly. Some of the references may have been added for musical flow rather than accuracy, but that’s only a minor detail in an otherwise brilliant show. Each number is delivered with such charisma and vocal talent that you’ll be humming the tunes long after the show ends.
A twist at the very end gives you one final laugh-out-loud moment.
This show isn’t for the prudish or fainthearted, but it’s worth every penny and then some. Beneath the laughs, there are key messages about the damaging effects of misinformation, and judging others, lessons that will resonate with many. With its brilliant performances, sharp writing, and outstanding musical direction, this musical is destined for big things. Catch it now so you can say you saw it before it hit the big time!

HILARIOUS! This was such a whitty, clever and fun way to promote an important message. I was unsure what to expect at first but was pleasantly surprised. The whole show was brilliant, the acting, vocals and script was just superb. I haven't laughed that much in a long times.

Totally unique, cleverly written, songs were amazing too. The cast were obviously well rehearsed and seamless. Characters were so well acted, and it was a real treat to see something debuting at Fringe which would work just as well on TV. Congratulations to the cast and writers, a must see for anyone wanting an adult only Fringe experience.

To be fair I did not know what I was expecting when I sat down to watch this show. But to my greatest surprise I had the best night so far at the Fringe.
Really catching tunes, interesting way of storytelling, great jokes, great acting were all part of this original musical. The cast is just lovable from the first moment anyone step on stage.
And it's beyond funny. The humour is witty, kinky, sometimes provocative but all age of the audience were laughing throughout.
Not going to lie I nearly peed myself I was laughing so hard.
Can't recommend enough!
