Description

Following a sold-out run in 2021, The Manchester Revue is back with 'brilliantly funny' ***** (The Derek Awards) and 'hysterical' **** (BingeFringe.com) sketches. We hope you've got your tickets, packed your suncream and an extra pair of pants, because this year we're going abroad. This show is nothing short of a trip, taking flights of fancy. It's hot, it's cold, it's refreshing, it's well earned, it's time away, it's not long enough, it's stressful, it's jetlag – it's awful. It will make you hate your family. You'll leave feeling like you need a holiday.

Definitely a must see! Each skit had me laughing out loud! At one point I had to compose myself because I was giggling a little bit too much. Absolute highlight of the fringe and some of the best sketch comedy I've seen. Heaps of talent.

Edinburgh Fringe can be very hit and miss so we were delighted to find this excellent comedy sketch show. 50 minutes of laugh out loud sketches from an extremely talented bunch. One of the few I would happily pay to see again. If you have a chance to squeeze in before the end of Fringe I would strongly recommend.

Utterly utterly fantastic. Zany, hysterical, 110% energy from all the cast had me in stitches and left me disappointed that it was only an hour. It’s well known that The Young Ones (a.k.a the show that created a whole new genre of comedy) was born from Manchester University, and I’m happy to see its spirit living on in this show. Do we have this generation’s Mayall/Mayer/Elton/Edmonson? A lively anarchic romp full of bold characters, brilliant physicality, and outrageously bad puns. Move over Footlights, the Manchester Revue is here. Totally worth the ticket price and has left me eager to explore more of the Fringe’s sketch comedy scene.

What a fantastic show this was - I can’t recommend it enough! An hour of wonderfully funny sketches and delightful performances from this talented ensemble. They even finished with a song which got the whole crowd singing along! Five stars.

Some cracking sketches, these are ones to look out for in the future! Something for everyone, would highly recommend. Five stars.

When I think of the Edinburgh Fringe, I think of comedy. Hilarious, smart, deadpan, original comedy. The Manchester Revue was all of that, and possibly even more, so if you’re struggling with what to watch, and need a good laugh, or several, I would recommended the revue. Laughs? Check. Absurdity? Check. Regrets? Nish. A great time is had with the Manchester Revue. Particular stand outs were the guy who whipped out a guitar and played comedic mastery, and the guy who played an insane show host that was a laugh-a-second.

Wow, saw this earlier in the week and still blown away. What do you want from a sketch show: crazy energy, an avalanche of ideas and some tremendously silly performances. Tick, tick and tick. (As Partridge said). A joyous production.
The most fun hour you can spend at the fringe. Get to it while you can!!

A brilliantly produced, fast moving sketch show, full of belly laughs and with some amazingly talented performers. Three generations of us went to see this and all of us loved it. Our only disappointment was that we saw it on our last day at Fringe and didn't get to see it twice.

A definite must see for comedy lovers, highly recommended

Was lucky enough to experience quite possibly the best that Manchester has to offer whilst at the fringe - If you have a free second of your time you have to see the Manchester Revue. If you don’t have a free second, you should make one for this rib tickling sketch show and don’t forget to pack your iron because you’ll be left in creases. Special shout out to the guy with ten cocktail sticks in his mouth, a must see rising ⭐️

This is what you come to The Fringe for - a student comedy revue that is both apt and funny. And also has some performers who you feel certain you'll hear more of. Good songs, good ideas and good lines - what's not to like about that. Five star.

Saw this opening night front row centre stage so may have actually been literally the first person to see this all things considered, feeling like prime Louis Walsh the way I'm discovering fresh talent. Standout sketch for me (and by the sound of it, the rest of the ruddy crowd) was Hotel Heisters, featuring what can only be called a star-making turn (and boy, does he turn) by Charlie Dix as the twisted host of a twisted game show. Pack your laugh-proof cagoules - wouldn't want you to drown in the torrential clownpour that is the Manchester Revue Goes Abroad.

Sketch comedy may be 2-a-penny at Fringe, but make sure this is one of your two. Fast-paced and delightfully silly, the Manchester Revue have hit the nail on the head with crafting witty sketches that will leave you in peals of laughter. Special kudos to both Charlie Dix and Paddy Merritt- both are magnetic performers who flit between characters, crafting physicality and comedy with ease. My jaw dropped to the floor worryingly fast and soon made its nest there throughout the 50 minutes. If you are concerned about it's new home, you'll find the only way to pick it up is to stand upwards at the end and smack your hands together at a breakneck pace. Very bright futures ahead!
